The cruise will take place on one of these boat models: Lagoon 450F, Fountaine Pajot Helia 44, Leopard 48.
Day 1:
At 5:00 p.m., check-in on the catamaran in Dar es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania. Introductory and organizational evening. Overnight stay on the catamaran in Dar es Salaam.
Day 2:
In the morning, the captain will set off towards Zanzibar (cruise time approximately 5.5 hours). You’ll stop in Kizimkazi, a fishing village in southern Zanzibar. For those interested, there’s an optional trip to Jozani Forest, a nature reserve home to the endemic Red Colobus monkeys (trip cost $40/person). Then, visit the fishing village. Overnight stay on the catamaran near Pangume Island (1-hour cruise).
Day 3:
Explore Menai Bay, also known as the Blue Safari. Menai Bay is a marine reserve with excellent snorkeling spots, sandbanks, and small uninhabited islands. It’s also a feeding ground for dolphins. In the afternoon, cruise towards Bawe Island (approximately 3-hour cruise). Along the way, you’ll see the famous Chumbe Lighthouse on a private island. Keep an eye out for whales, which often swim in this area. Overnight stay on the catamaran near Bawe Island.
Day 4:
Morning cruise to Kendwa, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Zanzibar, filled with restaurants and attractions. Kendwa’s beach is considered one of the best in Zanzibar (cruise time about 5.5 hours). The captain will sail as close to the shore as possible, allowing you to admire Zanzibar’s beauty from the water. Overnight stay on the catamaran in Kendwa.
Day 5:
Enjoy a relaxing morning of sunbathing and shopping for souvenirs. At noon, the catamaran will set sail for Mnemba Island (cruise time approximately 2.5 hours). Rumor has it that the island’s owner is Bill Gates himself. Mnemba is also one of the best spots in Zanzibar for snorkeling and dolphin watching. At sunset, return to Nungwi, another popular tourist town in northern Zanzibar. Overnight stay on the catamaran in Nungwi.
Day 6:
Start the day with a morning cruise towards Stone Town (approximately 5.5 hours). Visit Prison Island (entrance tickets $7/person), one of Zanzibar's most famous historical sites and home to a reserve for giant tortoises. The oldest tortoise here is around 120 years old! Afterward, take a short cruise to the popular Nakupenda sandbank (0.5-hour cruise). In the afternoon, continue cruising to Stone Town (0.5-hour cruise) and explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight stay on the catamaran in Stone Town.
Day 7:
Enjoy a free time in the morning—an ideal time to shop for souvenirs in Stone Town or visit the museum located in the house where Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, was born. Around noon, the catamaran will begin the return cruise to Dar es Salaam (5.5-hour cruise). In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with the crew. Overnight stay on the catamaran in Dar es Salaam.
Day 8:
Breakfast 7.00a.m. 7:30am farewell to the crew and disembark. Transport will be provided to the Dar es Salaam train station, where you will board on a 9:30am train to Morogoro (2.5-hour journey). Along the way, admire the scenic landscapes and local villages. Upon arrival, taxis will be waiting to take you to Mikumi, passing through Mikumi National Park. Keep an eye out for wild animals such as baboons, antelopes, elephants, and giraffes. After approximately 2 hours, you’ll arrive at Atupele Camp for accommodation and rest. In the late afternoon, visit a Maasai village to learn about their culture and customs. Return to the cottages to rest and prepare for the safari, which begins early the next day.
Day 9:
Breakfast will be served at 5:30 a.m., followed by an early departure on safari just before dawn, arriving between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. when the animals are most active. You’ll enjoy a 6-hour Safari Game Drive with a qualified guide, who will do their best to show you as many wild animals as possible in their natural habitat. Around 1:00 p.m., you’ll stop for lunch at a restaurant, where you can continue admiring the landscape and observing animals nearby. After the safari, you can relax—whether in your cottage, by the swimming pool, or playing billiards or table football at Atupele Camp. After dinner, you’ll embark on a night safari, starting at sunset. This thrilling adventure offers a chance to observe nocturnal animals and hunting predators. The safari will end around 11:00 p.m., after which you’ll return to Atupele Camp for the night.
Day 10:
After an early breakfast, check out and transfer to Morogoro for the 9:50 a.m. train. As you travel through the national park, keep an eye out for wildlife along the way. The train will return to Dar es Salaam by 11:40 a.m., marking the end of your trip. For those flying home the same day, we will help arrange taxis to the airport. For those staying longer, we will assist with transport and ensure safe journey to your hotel.
