Daily life on board is structured around a watch system that allows us to safely navigate the yacht around the clock. Every crew member is actively involved in navigation, weather monitoring, and sail handling. This trip is ideal for anyone who wants to deepen their bluewater sailing skills and log valuable miles towards their next sailing certificate.
In November, we can expect a variety of weather conditions in the sea area between the Azores and Madeira. Everything is possible, from stable high-pressure systems with moderate winds to passing low-pressure troughs. The prevailing northeasterly winds often allow for pleasant sailing conditions. With a bit of luck, we might even be accompanied by dolphins or whales.
Our Beneteau 43 is a proven and seaworthy yacht. The 3-cabin version with two bathrooms offers ample comfort for the crew. It is equipped for long-distance cruising and features the necessary safety equipment for sailing on the high seas.
In autumn 2026, we're sailing from Greifswald on the Baltic Sea to the Canary Islands to spend the winter there – and we're looking for motivated crew members who are keen to experience long-distance sailing, the watch system, life on board, and the planning of offshore voyages firsthand, for one to seven weeks. We'll be sailing on a well-equipped, modern 43-foot yacht.
The skipper is an experienced instructor and will gladly teach you everything you need to know to skipper safely yourself. These trips are ideal for gaining nautical miles.
The entire voyage will be approximately 3,000 nautical miles long and will last 7 weeks. We will sail in one- to two-week legs, covering between 200 and 1,200 nautical miles depending on the sea area. Each leg will take us to a pre-arranged port for crew changes. We will be sailing on a modern, seaworthy Beneteau 43 with four cabins.
The route
The individual legs are perfect for racking up miles. We'll make long runs and take advantage of good weather windows to sail at night. Even so, there's still plenty of time for weather-related buffers and occasional stops in beautiful bays or interesting harbors.
