Presentation of the Crossing of Sicily: From Capo d'Orlando to Santa Maria Navarrese

Join us for an unforgettable sailing adventure, crossing the crystal clear waters of the Southern Tyrrhenian Sea that separate Sicily from Sardinia. Starting from Capo d'Orlando, we will first sail towards the most remote islands of the Aeolian archipelago, Alicudi and Filicudi, to then follow the route to the suggestive islet of Ustica, famous for its natural beauty and turquoise waters. Finally, we will continue towards the splendid coast of Santa Maria Navarrese-Arbatax in Sardinia. This trip is not just an excursion, but an experience of discovery, relaxation and connection with nature.

Plan

Crossing program: 4 days

Day 1: Departure from Capo d'Orlando**
- Morning: Meeting at 10:00 at the port of Capo d'Orlando. Briefing on the itinerary and distribution of the cabin on board our welcoming sailing boat.
- Lunch: Lunch on board as we prepare to set sail.
- Afternoon: Start of navigation towards Ustica based on the weather forecast. During the trip, we will enjoy breathtaking views and have the opportunity to take a dip in the crystal clear waters.
- Evening: Sailing towards the Island of Ustica for about 80 nautical miles. Dinner on board during the navigation

Day 2: Exploring Ustica
- Morning: Arrival in Ustica after about 10/12 hours of navigation from Capo d'Orlando. Breakfast on board. Day dedicated to exploring the island, with the possibility of excursions on land to visit the panoramic paths and hidden beaches.
- Lunch: Free lunch on the island.
- Afternoon: Free time for a dip or just relax on the beach and return on board. Preparation for sailing to Sardinia.
- Evening: Departure from Ustica and start of navigation towards Santa Maria Navarrese during. Dinner on board.

Day 3: Sailing to Santa Maria Navarrese
- Morning: Breakfast on board. During the journey, we will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the Tyrrhenian Sea thanks to the navigation on the high seas.
- Lunch: Lunch on board while sailing.
- Afternoon: Arrival in the late afternoon or evening in Santa Maria Navarrese.
- Evening: Dinner at a local restaurant (optional) or dinner on board.

Day 4: Optional extra day of sailing and departure for home
- Morning: Breakfast on board. During the journey, we will have the opportunity thanks to the navigation on the high seas, to admire the beauties of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Possibility to explore the picturesque village, visit the church of Santa Maria and enjoy the splendid beaches.
- Lunch: Free lunch on the island.
- Afternoon: Conclusion of our adventure, departure at 4:00 pm from Santa Maria Navarrese to the airport and return home.

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english, german and italian)

The closest airport to the embarkation point of Capo d'Orlando is Palermo, while the most convenient for Santa Maria Navarrese is Cagliari. Both airports are about 2.5 hours from the embarkation and disembarkation marinas, easily reachable by public transport.

Mandatory extra charges include food, drinks, diesel consumption and moorings, and amount to €180 per person, to be paid upon boarding.

Depending on the weather and sea conditions, the program can be modified at any time for safety reasons, at the sole discretion of the skipper. In the event of cancellation due to sea conditions that do not allow the crossing, a full refund of the fee is provided.

"Betelgeuse" is a magnificent boat of over 15 meters, built by the famous German shipyard Bavaria, known for its quality and innovation. Designed to ensure maximum comfort and functionality, this vessel offers 5 spacious cabins and 3 full bathrooms, making it ideal for groups or families looking for adventures at sea.

At the stern, you will find 2 double cabins, each with its own private bathroom, ensuring privacy and comfort. In addition, there are two cabins with bunk beds, equipped with beds over 2 meters long, perfect for resting after a day of sailing, which share a bathroom in the corridor. The bow cabin with independent access, usually reserved for the crew, offers additional space and functionality.

The boat is equipped with a furling jib and furling mainsail, making it easier to maneuver while sailing, Harken winches oversized 56 and a two-wheel rudder. She has all the approvals and equipment needed to navigate without limits from the coast. Recently subjected to a complete refit in 2023, "Betelgeuse" is kept in impeccable condition, ready to offer you an unforgettable experience at sea!
