The Cantabrian coast exudes history and maritime culture in every corner of it. We sailors who navigate its waters breathe it daily with the emotion of knowing that we are heirs of centuries of life, society, economy and science dedicated to the sea.
The Guipuzcoan port of Pasajes (Pasaia) is the clearest indicator of this heritage and a clear example of its recovery and survival. For this reason, we propose a unique experience of enjoyment and learning in our style: a good journey.
In a 48-hour proposal, we will depart from the port of Santander on Friday afternoon with a direct sailing plan towards Pasajes. We will navigate the Cantabrian and Basque coast for 18-20 hours to arrive on Saturday morning at the port of Pasaia, where after a rest and a meal, we will walk its streets to the facilities of Albaola Itsas Kultur Faktoria (https://albaola.org /).
This center, defined as a Basque maritime factory, is dedicated to the recovery and dissemination of the maritime heritage of the region, the craft of riverside carpentry and nautical arts. Furthermore, the core of his work is the construction of the San Juan whaleboat, a replica of the wreck of the 16th century whaleboat found in the 70s in Newfoundland.
After the visit, we will board again on Saturday afternoon to return to Santander, discovering as we pass the ins and outs of each port and point of the coast navigated with the new knowledge learned. In addition to continuing to make miles and learn with the participation of life on board.
The price per place will be 300 euros, including skipper, diesel, ports, meals and visiting expenses.
