Sailing getaway from Barcelona to the Costa Brava, L'Escala

Departing from Port de Masnou on Friday, heading for the Costa Brava, we'll leave in the afternoon. The sailboat will already be loaded with water, food, and fuel, to make the crossing more agile.

We'll sail to L'Escala with an overnight cruise, passing the Medes Islands and anchoring in one of the nearby coves. In the afternoon, we'll return to the port of L'Escala, where we'll have dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in port.

Early Sunday morning, we will depart the port for Barcelona, arriving at Masnou at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Plan

Meeting on Friday at approximately 6:30pm in Puerto del Masnou, at the mooring. We will make an introduction, safety briefing and we will also distribute cabins.

The boat will already be loaded with water, fuel and food, so as soon as we finish the check in, we can leave for the Costa Brava.

Friday night we will sail at night with guards and breakfast on board in the morning.

On Saturday, if you feel like it and we're in good weather, I'll anchor in a cove and maybe the first swim of the season.

Saturday lunch on board and in the afternoon in Port de L'Escala to have dinner at a restaurant and then sleep tied up.

Early Sunday morning, with the first light of dawn, we will head to Barcelona where, in addition to sailing, we will also have breakfast and lunch on board.

At approximately 18:00 on Sunday, arrival at the port and farewell.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and spanish)

We will make a 75 euro boat for food, port mooring and fuel.

The sailboat is fully equipped to navigate the Mediterranean, with AIS, radar, radio beacon, life raft for 10 people, autopilot, solar panel. Approved to navigate in zone 2 60 miles from the coast. Sailboat completely restored with new ropes and sails. Kitchen and refrigerator, and consists of four double cabins and two bathrooms.

Domingo is friendly, but the journey was lacking. We miss the functions of an ordinary cook. The trip was offered with this included and his tasks, which were taken over by the boss, were limited to defrosting 4 meals (he did not prepare breakfast or dinner). The experience in Menorca was nice and the captain was close, although the cleanliness was a point to improve: bathrooms, kitchen and living room were barely serviced, and one day flies even appeared for not picking up food. It would also be good to organize meals better and to be updated in the choice of coves.
