The chocolate route by sailboat. Crossing Alicante

Do you like sailing and chocolate? You do not need to read the rest of the description, you can now make your reservation.

We propose a sailing weekend between Alicante and Villajoyosa to spend a weekend sailing and enjoying your passion for chocolate.

We will sail to Villajoyosa, capital of the Marina Baja, with a great fishing tradition and whose economy is closely linked to the chocolate industry and tourism.

We will visit the chocolate museum, which belongs to Valor chocolates, a company of recognized prestige born in Villajoyosa in 1881.

Plan

First day:

3:30 p.m. - Meeting point at the Marina Deportiva de Alicante. Boarding of the crew and instructions.

4:30 p.m. - Departure to sail towards Villajoyosa. The crossing lasts approximately between 4 and 6 hours, depending on the state of the sea.

9:30 p.m. - Arrival at the port of Villajoyosa.

Second day:

10:00 a.m. - Breakfast at Chocolatería Valor and visit to the Chocolate Museum.

12:00h - Free morning to get to know Villajoyosa and eat in the city.

4:00 p.m. - Departure to sail towards Alicante. We will see the sunset sailing.

9:00 p.m. - Arrival at the port of Alicante and disembarkation of the crew.

Other information

Minimum of 4 crew members signed up to carry out the departure.

It will be sailed if the wind allows to maintain the planned course and the intensity is adequate.

The route and schedule are subject to weather conditions. In the event of adverse conditions that force the schedule or port of call to be modified, an attempt will be made to cover the remaining route to Villajoyosa by land.

If the sea conditions make the route inadvisable, a new date or a refund of the reservation will be offered.

Expenses for meals, drinks and breakfasts are not included. A common boat will be made for all and the maintenance of the skipper during the route will be taken into account in the boat.

Boat details

Vagabond 47 model ketch built in 1979 in Taiwan.

It is a boat used mainly for school activities and trips. It has a wide continuous deck to practice maneuvers without having to stay in the cockpit, together with magnificent sea conditions.

It is a boat from 1979, very seaworthy and very habitable. The cabins and bathrooms have the basic amenities. It is an old ship with good maintenance, but no frills. Ideal for relaxed and practical trips.

It was the second time I did this type of journey. Our skipper was not Jorge. I missed planning to see more coves and take advantage of the days. The day we went to a single cove in Ibiza, it was wasted, because we spent more time sailing to find the cove. I would propose to focus the journey on getting to know a single island.
