Xacobea Nautical Crossing of the Arousa estuary
Day 1 – We will receive the pilgrims at the Real Club Náutico de Vigo. Depending on the time of arrival, you can settle on the boat, leave your bags on board and take advantage of the day to take a look at the city and get to know its old town, the port area, the main streets... Or, even, It is possible to make a guided route. We will spend the night on board the sailboat moored in the port.
Day 2 – We will begin the Way under sail: We will depart from Vigo and pass through Cangas, through the Cíes Islands National Park and arrive in Baiona, where we will spend the night on board moored in the port.
Day 3 – We will depart from Baiona and sail through the Ons Island National Park or the Aldán estuary at the choice of the pilgrims or where the weather conditions are the most suitable and finally arriving in Portonovo or Combarro to spend the night. We will spend the night on board.
Day 4 – We leave Portonovo or Combarro and go to Sanxenxo or Pedras Negras to put a stamp on our credential, where we will take the opportunity to take a walk and visit the area. Then we will resume our navigation towards the Arousa estuary, where we will have a picnic at anchor either on the Xidoiro Areoso islet or on the Arousa island. We will make a stop in Vilanova de Arousa and finally we will arrive at Cabo de Cruz (Boiro) or in Villagarcía de Arousa, where we will spend the night on board.
Day 5 – We will disembark and a motorboat picks us up at the last port to make the Ascent of the Ulla river “La Traslatio” (approximately one hour of navigation) that will leave us in Pontecesures, just 3 kilometers from Padrón. Here we can choose to walk the last 25 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago (last section of the Portuguese Way) or only the last 7 km, which are mandatory from Milladoiro (we will take a taxi or transfer there, not included in the price).
