July 22-25, 2027 · Jávea / Costa Blanca
Together we'll prepare the yacht for the regatta, practice the most important maneuvers, and then go to the starting line together. Depending on your experience, you can actively participate: setting and furling sails, handling sheets, trimming, assisting with maneuvers, or experiencing the regatta action directly from the cockpit.
No regatta experience is necessary. Our experienced skippers will instruct you in your duties and ensure that everyone is involved according to their skill level.
That's precisely what makes this weekend so special: you'll experience classic yachting not from the jetty, but right in the middle of the action.
The program
Thursday, July 22 – Welcome aboard
We welcome you aboard the yacht at the Club Náutico de Jávea from 3 pm.
You will settle into your cabin and get to know the yacht, skipper, and other crew members. Afterwards, you will receive a safety briefing and we will discuss the schedule for the upcoming regatta days.
The evening is free for you to enjoy as you wish. Take a stroll along the harbor, have a meal together, or simply relax on board.
Friday, July 23 – Training & Regatta Kick-off
After breakfast, it's time for the first time to cast off.
We'll use the day for joint sailing and maneuvering training in the bay of Jávea. You'll learn the procedures on board and we'll assign positions within the crew.
We practice the maneuvers that will need to work later in the race: setting sails, tacking, gybing, sheet work and communication within the crew.
It's not about perfection. What's crucial is that we work together as a team and everyone knows their role.
In the evening, the social program of the regatta begins. Owners and crews of the participating classic yachts meet here – the special atmosphere of a classic yacht regatta can now be felt everywhere in the harbor.
Saturday, July 24 – Race Day
Today things get serious.
After breakfast together, we prepare the yacht for the first day of the regatta and set sail together with the other classic yachts.
Even the journey to the start is an experience: classic yachts under sail, crews making their final preparations and the mountains of the Costa Blanca in the background.
Then the starting signal is given.
Now, teamwork on board is crucial. Sails are trimmed, maneuvers are prepared, and the best course is sought. You will experience firsthand how a large, classic sailing yacht is sailed under regatta conditions.
After the races, we will return to the harbor together.
In the evening, the regatta community reunites on land. Crews, owners, and sailors celebrate together – sporting competition on the water and the Mediterranean lifestyle in the harbor go hand in hand in Jávea.
Sunday, July 25 – Final & Award Ceremony
Our last day of the regatta begins after breakfast.
The classic yachts set sail together one last time. The final races will determine the final standings – and by now, our guests have long since become a well-coordinated crew.
After crossing the finish line, we return to the Club Náutico.
Finally, the participants meet for the joint prize ceremony and the traditional end of the regatta.
Then it's time to slowly say goodbye.
Our guests are scheduled to depart by approximately 5 pm.
Note: The exact schedule and times of the races and events are based on the official 2027 regatta program and are subject to change.
They are part of the crew
This offer is explicitly not about being chauffeured around on a yacht for three days.
A regatta thrives on teamwork.
Depending on your sailing experience, you will take on tasks on board together with our skippers and crew. Even participants with little regatta experience can join in and will receive appropriate instruction.
Those who already have sailing experience can be more involved in maneuvers and sail trim.
Active participation in sailing is expressly encouraged – regatta experience is not required.
Regatta life on land
A classic regatta doesn't end with the finish line.
It is precisely the atmosphere in the harbor that makes events like the Vela Clásica Jávea so special. After the races, the classic yachts lie side by side at the dock, crews exchange their experiences of the day, and in the evening everyone meets again at the club's events.
Jávea itself provides the perfect setting: the harbor, beach, restaurants and bars are just a few steps away from each other.
This weekend combines sporty sailing with the relaxed lifestyle of the Costa Blanca.
