Get your Navigation License in Alicante without an exam

The basic regulatory safety and navigation practices for obtaining a navigation license last 6 hours.

The internship will take place during an intensive morning session with a break to rest.

The practices will be divided into the following sections:
- Section 1. Safety and checks before going out to sea. Knowledge and handling of safety equipment, review of critical points on the boat and checks prior to going out to sea.
- Section 2. Route planning and firefighting. Route planning: Identification of the area to be navigated, status and capacity of the crew and interpretation of weather forecasts. Firefighting issues.
- Section 3. Engines and electrical installation. Identification of the elements of the propulsion system and the electrical installation. Starting the engine and checking its operation.
- Section 4. Boat maintenance, pollution prevention and ropework. Boat and boat components maintenance. Precautions based on the boat's material. Antifouling. Marine pollution prevention. Handling of basic ropes and knots.
- Section 5. Manoeuvres. Manoeuvres in the dock, berthing and unberthing. Safety speed.
- Section 6. Anchoring, surveillance and course control. Anchoring manoeuvres and course control and RIPA rules. Identification of marks and beacons. Reverse course and precautions for night navigation and navigation with limited visibility.
- Section 7. Navigation. Practical aspects of navigation, such as determining the total correction by leading, the situation by bearings, leading and GNSS equipment, as well as by graphic dead reckoning. Use of depth sounder and log. Rapid positioning on the chart. Recognition of the coast, bearings and safety edge.
- Section 8. Safety manoeuvres. Man overboard manoeuvre, using the MOB function of the GNSS equipment, and towing and receiving manoeuvres. Precautions for rescue from boats and with helicopters will also be taken into account.
