Part I
Understanding the Atmosphere: We will address general atmospheric circulation and its impact on maritime climate.
Interpretation of Weather Maps: We will teach you how to read weather maps to accurately anticipate weather conditions.
Storms and Fronts: We will explore the formation of extratropic storms (cyclogenesis) and the dynamics of associated fronts.
Wind and Wave Calculation: We will learn to estimate wind strength and wave size to improve safety while sailing.
Real-Time Practical Exercise: We will put into practice what we have learned by predicting the weather at 48 and 72 hours.
Part II
Wave and Tidal Wave Behavior: We will analyze the characteristics of the waves and their influence on navigation routes.
Vessel Safety and Stability: We will study the principles of boat stability to keep it safe in the face of difficult conditions.
Offshore Sailing: We will identify the risks associated with open sea navigation and the best strategies to avoid them.
Real Application: We will apply all the concepts in a practical case with a 44-foot yacht, adapting knowledge to everyday situations.
