Navigation License Course (Titulín) in Barcelona

Get your sailing license at an approved official recreational boating school. To obtain this degree, you do not have to take any exam.

The Navigation License, the nautical title that does not expire, is the fastest and easiest way to get started in the world of boating. In just one day you can get it (it's the old Titulín), and if you still have the title you can validate it with the Navigation License and earn in attributions just by doing the internship (4hrs).

The Navigation License course allows you to steer recreational boats of up to 6 meters in length and suitable power depending on their manufacturer without leaving more than 2 miles from the coast, marina or place of shelter during daytime sailing. In addition, you can ride any type of water bike (with no power limit) as established by Royal Decree 238/2019.

During the course you will have the opportunity to learn and participate in the following aspects:
- Navigation basics
- Preferences of passage between boats
- Maritime beaconing: how to interpret it
- Essential nautical knots
- How to prevent collisions
- Docking and undocking
- Selection of the appropriate anchoring place
- Radio communications: basic notions
- Actions in emergency cases

Other information

This course is taught in spanish. You must have a sufficient level of this language to be able to follow the course.

The course is taught in the Port Olímpic area and you can do it in just 6 hours and without an exam. There are two hours of theoretical training and four hours of practical training.
