Join an exciting journey between Africa and the Canary Islands sailing aboard an authentic ocean sailboat. This route from Tangier to Lanzarote allows you to live a real experience of deep-sea sailing, covering hundreds of miles in the Eastern Atlantic and enjoying the conditions that make this area one of the most interesting for the training of sailors.
We will depart from the historic city of Tangier, gateway between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, to head to the Canary Islands taking advantage of the prevailing northeastern winds. During the voyage, we will carry out coastal and ocean navigation, sea guards, route planning, meteorological analysis and real navigation maneuvers, turning every mile traveled into a learning opportunity.
Our boat is a 70 foot steel Ketch with 5 cabins. It was designed by the prestigious naval architect German Frers as a solid, comfortable and reliable vessel for sailing around the world. Its robustness, stability and ease of handling allow the entire crew to actively participate in navigation and maneuvering, regardless of their level of experience.
On board, you will be supervised by experienced skippers and certified RYA instructors, participating in real practices in ship management, crew safety, coastal and ocean navigation, meteorology, communications and life on board. Our goal is for each participant to be an active part of the crew and to gain practical experience in a real sailing environment.
We will carry out daily meteorological analyses using satellite communications, the interpretation of GRIB files and direct observation of sea and wind conditions. We will also work on fundamental aspects of ocean navigation such as planning defeats, organizing guards, risk prevention and decision-making at sea.
This voyage is especially interesting for those who want to accumulate sailing miles, altitude experience and hours at sea valid for different nautical qualifications and certifications.
