Sail from Funchal to Tenerife on a Tall Ship

Along the route, we sail near the Selvagens Islands, a remote and protected nature reserve regarded as one of the North Atlantic’s most important marine sanctuaries. These pristine waters provide habitat for an impressive range of wildlife, including seabirds, sea turtles, dolphins, and several species of whales.

Accompanying us on this voyage is Cristina Rampinini, a marine biologist from the Marine Environment Research Association (AIMM). Through informal presentations, onboard discussions, and wildlife observation sessions, she will share insights into the marine ecosystems of Madeira and the Canary Islands. Her expertise adds a fascinating educational dimension to the journey, offering guests a deeper appreciation of the ocean and its inhabitants.

As we make our way toward Tenerife, guests are encouraged to become part of life aboard. Learn traditional sailing skills from the crew, help raise and trim the sails, take a turn at the helm, or simply relax on deck while taking in the vast Atlantic surroundings. Weather permitting, there may also be opportunities to climb the mast and enjoy panoramic views from above.

As land comes back into view, Tenerife’s dramatic coastline and volcanic landscapes emerge from the horizon, crowned by the imposing silhouette of Mount Teide, Spain’s highest peak. Our voyage concludes in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, bringing to an end a memorable passage shaped by nature, discovery, and the enduring spirit of life under sail.
