From Madeira to the Azores – 550 nautical miles across the Atlantic
On board, we sail on a watch system and manage the yacht around the clock – even at night. All crew members are involved in navigation, weather observation, sail handling, and other daily tasks on board. Far from the coast, wind, weather, and the rhythm of the watches determine our daily routine.
This sailing trip is aimed at sailors who already have some experience and want to deepen their knowledge of offshore sailing. It is also suitable for those looking to log miles and anyone who wants to experience what it means to spend several days on the open Atlantic. Team spirit, reliability, and a willingness to actively participate in life on board are particularly important.
In March, we must expect changeable weather conditions on the route between Madeira and the Azores. Calmer stretches are just as possible as strong winds, Atlantic swells, and passing low-pressure systems. The exact trip planning therefore depends on the current weather forecast. With a bit of luck, we might encounter dolphins or whales along the way.
Sailing will take place on a 43-foot Beneteau Oceanis. The yacht has three double cabins and one cabin with bunk beds, providing ample space and comfort for the time at sea.
