PER Motor practices in Valencia

Carry out in Valencia the obligatory approved Navigation and Safety practices to obtain the nautical title of Recreational Boat Skipper (PER).

Following the official agenda set by the regulations, 16 hours of practice must be carried out, divided into two 8-hour days + 1-hour break for lunch.

Remember that to obtain the PER you also have to pass the theoretical exam of the degree, do the Radio practices and present a psychotechnical certificate.

Plan

We will carry out the practices in 2 days, with two sessions each day.

First session: 09:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Second session: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

During the sessions the following topics will be taught:
- Safety and checks before going to sea.
- Planning of the defeat and fire fighting.
- Motors and electrical installation.
- Maintenance of the boat, prevention of pollution and ropes.
- Maneuvers.
- Anchoring, surveillance and control of the defeat.
- Navigation.
- Safety maneuvers

I did the practices with Luis as a monitor, and the truth is that they were great. We had time to practice all the maneuvers and repeat them, and despite not being the best day for sailing, we learned a lot.

I did the internship with Raúl, who is a super professional and very nice! We had a great time and an unbeatable time.
The downside is that with 8 students and only 16 hours in total, it is very little practice time for each of us. There are maneuvers that we could not practice all or that I only practiced once and it was perhaps not enough. I was left wanting more practice, since it has not been 16 hours of practice for me, but shared with too many people.
