Short cruise and skipper training on the Baltic Sea

This short trip is intended for everyone who needs a taste of the sea. There are no prerequisites and no matter whether you have sailing experience or are just looking to get started, everyone will get their money's worth.

In this part of the Baltic Sea on the coast of the island of Rügen there are numerous challenging fairways. We organize life on board together; here we sail, sleep, cook and organize our daily life on board.

Price per berth: €390 (plus onboard kitty)

The sailing trip starts at our sailing school in Greifswald-Wieck, goes to Rügen, and returns to the sailing school in Greifswald. Harbor maneuvers, sailing maneuvers, and navigation will be practiced with experienced skippers and instructors.

This sailing trip is ideal for anyone wanting to brush up on their slightly rusty skipper skills, needing a short preparation for their next charter holiday, or perhaps considering taking their SKS (German sailing certificate) soon. Of course, simply joining the sailing trip, meeting nice people, and soaking up the sun are also perfectly acceptable.

Our modern yacht is spacious, seaworthy, and equipped with three double cabins, providing everything needed for our sailing trips. For days with less wind, a gennaker is on board, ready for you to try out! We will gladly provide proof of the nautical miles sailed.

Boat details

The Sun Odyssey 389 is a modern sailing yacht from Jeanneau with a length of 11.75 m and a beam of 3.76 m. It combines good sailing characteristics with sophisticated comfort below deck and is suitable for both sporty cruising and holiday trips.

The layout includes three double cabins and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The saloon is bright and open, with a U-shaped seating area, navigation table, and a functional galley with a cooler, gas stove, and sink.

The cockpit is spacious and, with two steering wheels, offers unobstructed access to the folding bathing platform at the stern. The rig is easy to operate—with a fully battened mainsail and furling genoa—and is easy to handle for small crews.

A great sailing and water sports school. I obtained my SBF-See, SBF-Binnen/Segel and UBI/SRC here. Friendly, patient trainers who use their experience and skills to get you to the required exam level. Despite the training, there is still plenty of fun and they take the time to respond to special requests/concerns. I would love to come back here to broaden my maritime horizons.

The theory compact course (in my case SBF Inland) is really very good and prepares you ideally for the exam and beyond.
I also really liked the friendly trainers during the practical training sessions. This meant I was able to pass both exams straight away.

Very good preparation for the exam and future sailing experiences. You can see that all the trainers are very passionate about what they do.
There are always reports of experiences and additional theoretical background on all exam-relevant topics, so that you feel very well prepared the first time you are alone on the boat.

I just did my SBF inland sailing/motor here.
Great people, pleasant atmosphere. The teachers are easy-going, but still competent and can show you what is important when sailing.
If you don't feel completely confident with certain maneuvers, just ask. There is no rigid curriculum that has to be followed. You can decide for yourself where you need more practice.
As you gain experience, you will spend some time on board with just other students. This helps you to feel responsible for the boat and the maneuvers and to coordinate with the other students. But don't worry, a boat with a teacher is always nearby if something goes wrong or you have any questions.
