SKS training cruise in Croatia

Let's start with our training cruise: During the SKS training cruise with our training skipper, you will spend a week learning what you need for the practical part of the exam. Our areas of Croatia and Mallorca are perfect for this: many offshore islands, bays and harbors are possible mooring points during the cruise. New skipper know-how is added every day. At the end of your cruise, you will take the official practical exam. The prerequisites for admission to the SKS are the SBF-See and 200 documented nautical miles.

Plan

Arrival and start of the sailing trips: You arrive at the port on Saturdays between 2 and 4 p.m.
Your one-week SKS training trip will take you back to your starting port on Friday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
You sleep on the yacht and leave it at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Then you have the practical exam in your pocket.
Food and drink are provided on the ship. Before setting off, you do the shopping together. The kitchen on the yacht is also well equipped.

You form the crew and have plenty of time for individual training. There are usually 6 candidates on your yacht. The climate and landscape are also ideal: consistent weather, good winds and various mooring options offer top conditions for carrying out the various exercises and maneuvers. You get to know the compulsory tasks in a very practical way and gain insider knowledge that you can put to good use in the future.

On our SKS training cruise, an experienced skipper will look after and train you around the clock. See what we mean: When sailing, you learn new maneuvers every day. In the evening, perhaps over a cozy dinner, you repeat a few theory questions together. This way you are well prepared for the questions part. You take the practical exam on the second to last or last day of your cruise. The examiner comes to the destination port on board our yacht: in Mallorca, Palma, in Croatia in Trogir and Pula. If you do not want to take the exam, please mention this in the booking process.

Other information

The skipper for this activity speaks german. To participate you must speak one of the languages spoken on board.

For the SKS training trip you bring with you:

- Enjoy sailing
- Minimum age of 18 years
- a SBF-See (sports boating license for lakes)
- Sailing experience of already 200 nautical miles on yachts in coastal waters (300 NM mandatory before the exam)

The German Sportküstenschifferschein (SKS) is valid in Spain and entitles you to sail in Spanish coastal waters. The SKS contains the "International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft" and is internationally recognized.

In Spain, the following regulations apply to German boat licenses:
* Sports Boating License Sea (SBF Sea): Valid within sight of the coast.
* Sport Coastal Skipper License (SKS): Valid up to 30 nautical miles from the coast.
* Inland Sports Boating License (SBF Inland): Valid up to 3 nautical miles from the coast.

Sax 3 accommodates up to 10 people in 3 double cabins, 1 cabin with a bunk bed and a saloon with 2 extra beds. Pillows and blankets are provided during the yacht rental.

Our sailing trip with was simply amazing! The boat was in perfect condition and the crew was friendly and professional. The skipper guided us safely through beautiful, hidden bays and the route offered a perfect mix of sailing, relaxation and discovering small, picturesque coastal towns.
What was particularly impressive was the crystal clear water and the secluded beaches where we anchored. Life on board was relaxed, the food was fresh and delicious, and the sunsets on deck were fantastic.

I had such a lovely week in Croatia this year on the Sks cruise!
I had so much fun with our motley crew and always had a lot to laugh about! I felt totally at ease the whole time. It's wonderful to see how such a great team can come together in such a short space of time.
Our skipper Elena in particular is unbeatable! I find the amount of fun, humor, empathy and motivation she brings to the job totally impressive.
She prepared us perfectly for the exam and practiced with us as much as we wanted! She took our concerns and wishes into account 100%!
You could really tell that Elena also really enjoyed teaching us something.
