Leg 1: Martinique → St. Lucia
Our journey begins in Martinique – the lush, multifaceted “Flower of the Caribbean.” After provisioning and a safety briefing, we set sail, taking advantage of the steady northeast trade winds to cover the approximately 80 nautical miles south to St. Lucia. Early on, we'll experience the ultimate in offshore sailing: several hours across deep blue waters, a steady wind of 4-5 Beaufort, and the possibility of brief showers. After the long passage, we'll reward ourselves with a relaxing evening in a Caribbean setting.
Stage 2: St. Lucia → Bequia (Grenadines)
After a relaxing day ashore, it's time to set sail again! A journey of approximately 60 nautical miles takes us along the stunning coastline of St. Lucia to charming Bequia, the northernmost of the Grenadines. In Bequia, hidden coves, friendly restaurants, and a laid-back island lifestyle await us – perfect for a relaxing day ashore and a snorkeling trip in crystal-clear waters.
Stage 3: Bequia → Bonaire (ABC Islands)
Now comes the big challenge: the long passage across the open sea from the Grenadines to Bonaire. Nearly 700 nautical miles with wind, waves, and deep seas. Vigilant crew management is essential – night watches, standing watch, and keeping an eye on weather windows. With the Bavaria C51, however, you have a true ocean-going yacht at your disposal: robust, seaworthy, comfortable – made for such voyages.
The Caribbean reveals its rougher, but fascinating side here - endless horizons, starry nights, pure sailing experience.
Stage 4: Arrival in Bonaire - Island exploration & relaxation
After about a week of sailing on the open sea, we reach Bonaire – known worldwide for its fantastic dive sites and warm Caribbean lifestyle. We explore colorful reefs, discover flamingos, and experience the slow pace of life on the ABC islands.
We're sailing on the Lotte, a 2017 Bavaria C51. This yacht is a special vessel, designed and certified for offshore sailing. She handles even high waves with ease and boasts excellent seakeeping qualities. Comfort and performance have been seamlessly combined, promising a pleasant time together on board and an exhilarating sailing experience.
Welcome on board!
