Trieste · Slovenia · Adriatic · Barcolana. Four days to discover the Adriatic from the water, sail along the coast of Italy and Slovenia, enjoy their landscapes and ports, prepare our crew and finish the experience by participating in the Barcolana from the inside.
The proposal starts and ends in Trieste, but during the days before the race we will leave the city environment to go sailing and discover the Adriatic.
Thursday - Trieste. Boarding and first contact.

We will meet in Trieste, where we will embark and get to know our ship for these days: the D&D Kufner 54.
After the crew is accommodated and introduced, we will hold a briefing on navigation, safety, on-board organization and program for the next few days.
It will also be time to familiarize ourselves with the ship and begin to distribute the different functions of the crew.
Once prepared, we will leave Trieste to begin our little adventure across the Adriatic.
The first navigation will allow us to make contact with the ship, practice maneuvers and start working as a team.

Friday - Italy and Slovenia. Sailing the Adriatic.
Today the protagonist will be the sea. We will set out to sail along the Adriatic, heading towards the Slovenian coast and discovering from the water a completely different coastline than the one we can see from land.
Navigation will be an essential part of the experience. We will have time to enjoy the landscape, practice maneuvers, take turns in the different functions of the boat and continue to learn about the characteristics of the ship.
Depending on the weather and navigation conditions, we can make different stops and anchorages to enjoy the environment and the coast.
The goal is not simply to move from one point to another. We want to experience the Adriatic Sea by sailing.
During the day we will be consolidating the crew and working on coordination on board. For those who have regatta experience, it will be an opportunity to return to competition mode; for those with less experience, it will be an excellent opportunity to learn and actively participate in the maneuvers.
And, as we sail, we will also begin to think about what awaits us on Sunday. Because the Barcolana is won — and, above all, enjoyed — long before the starting line.
Saturday - Slovenia and return to Trieste. Preparation.
On Saturday we will continue to discover the Slovenian coast and the Adriatic before heading back to Trieste.
It will be a day to enjoy sailing and, at the same time, start changing the chip.
We will gradually leave backcountry sailing behind to enter regatta mode.
During the return we will prepare for participation the following day:
- ⛵ Get to know the ship.
- Analyze the conditions.
- Distribute positions.
- Review maneuvers.
- Prepare the strategy.
Once back in Trieste, we can experience the extraordinary atmosphere before the Barcolana. The city will be completely turned upside down with the regatta. The port, the pontoons and the waterfront will be full of ships and crews arriving from different places.
It will be the perfect time to observe the competition stage, get to know other participating boats and breathe the atmosphere that makes the Barcolana such a special experience. And, above all, it will be time to get our crew ready.
Tomorrow we don't come to look at the Barcolana. We came to sail it.
Sunday - Barcolana. The big day.
From the start we will prepare the ship and the crew.
The Gulf of Trieste will begin to fill with sails and, little by little, we will find ourselves surrounded by ships of all kinds and crews arriving from different countries.
The atmosphere will be completely different from the previous days. We are no longer on a journey. We are racing.
Each crew member will have their position and responsibility on board. We will review the last instructions and prepare for one of the most spectacular moments of the experience: the exit.
The countdown begins. 5 minutes. 1 minute. 30 seconds. Departure!
And then we'll be inside the Barcolana. Maneuvers, strategy, communication and teamwork will be combined with the spectacle of sailing surrounded by hundreds of ships.
Beyond the result, we want each participant to be able to take something much more important: to have experienced one of the great festivals of international sailing from the inside.
