This is a Bermudian sloop built of naval steel and with a teak roof in the H. Schmidt shipyards, on the banks of the Elbe River, in the town of Hoopte, in the region of Hamburg, Germany.
It was launched in 1969 to compete in Formula KR in the North Seas, a challenge that required an extremely robust construction. The high quality standards applied to its construction gave it the highest distinction of the time with the Lloyds 100 A Cruz de Malta certificate.
