The Powerboat Level 2 course provides the practical skills and knowledge needed to safely operate a powerboat and is the foundation for obtaining the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

Over 2 days, you will learn boat handling, safety procedures, low- and high-speed manoeuvres, launching and recovery, and basic navigation.

No previous experience is required, although the RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship and RYA SRC Radio courses are recommended.

    Prerequisites: None, but the RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship and RYA Radio SRC courses are highly recommended.

    Course objective: You will be fully qualified to operate a motorboat and, with the ICC, you will be able to hire one.

    Skills acquired after the course: self-reliant and aware of your own limitations.

Other information
This course is taught in english. You must have a sufficient level of this language to be able to follow the course.

The ICC (International Certificate of Competence) is required by many European countries for operating certain types of motorboats. It is also useful in countries where certificates are compulsory for nationals, simply because officials expect to see that certificate. You can obtain the ICC directly by completing the RYA Powerboat Levels 1 and 2 courses.
