On board, we shape our daily sailing routine together. Each person is involved in ship handling, navigation, and sailing maneuvers according to their knowledge and interests. No prior experience is necessary, so even beginners can learn the basics of seamanship. Experienced sailors can deepen their skills in a special sailing area. The focus is on a relaxed sailing experience within the group.
In November, the Azores enjoy a mild but changeable climate. We can expect pleasant temperatures, but also stronger winds and rain showers. This time of year often offers good sailing conditions. The Atlantic is particularly lively here, and there's a good chance of spotting dolphins or even whales, which are native to the waters around the Azores, during the trip.
Our yacht, a Beneteau 43, is a proven and comfortably equipped cruising yacht. With its four cabins and two heads, it offers ample space for the crew. It is known for its excellent sailing characteristics and is equipped with modern navigation electronics and all necessary safety equipment for offshore sailing.
In autumn 2026, we're sailing from Greifswald on the Baltic Sea to the Canary Islands to spend the winter there – and we're looking for motivated crew members who are keen to experience long-distance sailing, the watch system, life on board, and planning offshore voyages firsthand, for one to seven weeks. We'll be sailing on a well-equipped, modern 43-foot yacht. The skipper is an experienced instructor and will gladly teach you everything you need to know to skipper safely yourself. These trips are ideal for gaining valuable miles.
The entire voyage will be approximately 3,000 nautical miles long and will last 7 weeks. We will sail in one- to two-week legs, covering between 200 and 1,200 nautical miles depending on the sea area. Each leg will take us to a pre-arranged port for crew changes. We will be sailing on a modern, seaworthy Beneteau 43 with four cabins.
The route
The individual legs are perfect for racking up miles. We'll make long runs and take advantage of good weather windows to sail at night. Even so, there's still plenty of time for weather-related buffers and occasional stops in beautiful bays or interesting harbors.
