Our yacht makes a maintenance stop: technology and maintenance

Have you always wanted to know more about how a yacht works? Together with you, we'll prepare our Hanse for the great adventure of crossing the Atlantic!
This special week on Poros is all about technology, maintenance, and practical experience on board a modern bluewater yacht. You'll be more than just a guest; you'll become part of the crew: you'll get hands-on experience, receive explanations of all the key systems, and be actively involved in the preparations for the Atlantic crossing.

The focus, however, is on everyday technical matters: maintenance, repairs, checks, and preparations are the focus. This gives you a unique insight into life and work on a long-distance yacht.
Of course, you don't have to spend the whole day tinkering: If you want, you can use the time for excursions, strolls through town, or simply relax. We'll cover the port fees on Poros, of course.

Plan

Week & Schedule
Our adventure begins on Poros. After boarding and a detailed briefing, it's time to get to work: We inspect the rigging, sails, engine, electrical system, safety equipment, pumps, navigation systems, and much more. You'll learn how to plan maintenance work, check spare parts, and identify or fix technical problems. Anyone interested can get involved in all areas – from changing the oil to testing the functionality of the rescue tools.
In between, we sail to a bay for swimming, test the systems underway, and enjoy the Greek coast. On Poros, there's time for shore excursions, excursions, or simply crew life in the harbor.

Knowledge & Practice
This week is ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about yacht technology, maintenance, and preparation for long-distance voyages. You'll gain hands-on experience with all the systems on board, get hands-on experience, and ask questions. Our team will explain the procedures, offer tips, and share their experiences from many years of bluewater sailing.

Our yacht is a modern, fast, and comfortable Hanse 575 with four double cabins and a skipper's cabin—each with its own bathroom and electric toilet. Wi-Fi via Starlink, multimedia, air conditioning, a generator, a washing machine, a bread maker, a Nespresso machine, large solar panels, radar, AIS, a watermaker, a hydraulic bathing platform, and a dinghy with an electric motor ensure self-sufficiency and comfort. The yacht is equipped for safety, design, and performance at the highest level.

Boat details

Our yacht, a Hanse, stands for a comfortable and outstanding experience. It gives you a feeling of spaciousness, a calm atmosphere and offers the freedom you need for your activities. Nevertheless, it is fast, sporty and has great sailing performance. It was designed by Volvo Ocean Race Designers and is the fastest yacht in its class.

The large cockpit offers enough space for pleasant get-togethers and long conversations with a breathtaking panoramic view. On the sun deck you can be alone, take the time to read a book or enjoy the nature around you. The skipper's cabin has its own entrance. Even if you are supported by a professional crew, you still have your privacy.

The yacht is a modern Hanse 575. It has 4 double cabins and a cabin for the skipper. Each cabin has its own bathroom with electric toilet. Starlink, multi media, air conditioning, generator, 230 V in all cabins and Nespresso coffee machine. Solar panels, radar, AIS, watermaker, washing machine, bathing platform and a dinghy with an electrically powered outboard motor. Comprehensive safety and navigation equipment as well as many other equipment that you need to be self-sufficient.
