WEDNESDAY:
On Wednesday afternoon we meet in Ciutadella. The introductions will take place, the skipper will explain all the details of the trip, we will distribute the cabins, we will do the shopping, and the skipper will give you some notions of sailing with a short talk, and we will begin our adventure with a welcome cocktail organized by the Regatta.
THURSDAY:
On Thursday, the big day of the “100-mile race between islands” will arrive, so we will start with a good breakfast on the boat while we discuss the last details, such as which other boats are participating and which ones we know, etc. We will distribute tasks and resolve any doubts, if there are still any, about how the race will develop. And so it will begin, placing ourselves on the starting line awaiting the exciting departure of the 50 boats expected to participate this year.
The regatta will take place towards Farallot d'Aubarca (Mallorca) - Illa dels Vents and finally Ciutadella.
During the Regatta we will have time to maneuver the sails, decide different strategies depending on how the wind blows, and organize the night watches. We will organize ourselves so that some cook while others control maneuvers and we can delight ourselves with something delicious to eat and/or dine on.
FRIDAY:
The regatta will last about 20 to 30 hours, so we will arrive in Ciutadella for dinner and sleep. There we will be able to celebrate the end of the race with a few glasses of cava and dinner on dry land. Challenge achieved!!
SATURDAY:
The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday and as soon as the time is known, we can plan the day by going out to sail and enjoying the blue. Once again the forecast will tell us the destination and the coves to sail along. We can drop anchor and enjoy a good snack and something to eat at midday to return to Ciutadella where those who want can disembark or continue the adventure. At dusk we will head for Barcelona.
It will be another intense day that we will make the most of to enjoy what we have come for: Learning to sail with crew members who share that hobby with you.
SUNDAY:
On Sunday we will arrive at Arenys de Mar, around midday, and we will end an extraordinary week of sailing, practice and learning a little more than we knew when we embarked, not without wishing for the next call to arrive that will allow us to embark again. See you next time, guys!
