Castellón-Gibraltar-Canary Islands crossing by sailboat

2-week crossing from Castellón to the island of Gran Canaria, passing through Gibraltar, aboard a sailboat, covering 1110 NM.

The first leg will be direct from the Club Náutico de Castellón to the Línea de la Concepción, sailing for 3 consecutive days and a total of 400 NM. Here we will spend two days visiting the Rock of Gibraltar: its streets, its mountain, we will go up by cable car, we will see its monkeys, the Cueva de San Miguel and the Grutas de los Milatares.

We will then head towards the island of Gran Canaria, crossing the Strait of Gibraltar, passing by Cape Spartel and sailing for 6 more days and another 710 NM, making a total of 1110 NM.

It will be a trip around the Mediterranean and a good part of the Atlantic, doing coastal navigation. We will sleep while sailing and the Captain will cook you things you have never tried before.

Plan

Day 1: Check in at 7:30 pm at the Club Náutico de Castellón. Safety instructions, navigation theory and dinner on board.

Day 2: We begin our coastal navigation at 7:00 a.m. heading towards Cabo de San Antonio. At around 10:00 p.m. we will arrive at Cabo de la Nao.

Day 3: After passing Cabo de la Nao, we will sail all night and, in the afternoon, we will pass in front of Cabo de Palos. At night, we will pass Cabo Cope in the distance.

Day 4: In the morning, we will pass through Cabo de Gata and spend the whole day and night sailing through the Alboran Sea.

Day 5: In the morning, we will arrive at Playa de Poniente de la Línea de la Concepción, where we will anchor. Here we will go down with the Dingi to visit the Rock of Gibraltar.

Day 6: Visit to the Rock of Gibraltar.

Day 7: At 7 in the morning we set sail towards Cape Spartel and from here we will begin our Atlantic crossing during the next 6 days of continuous navigation, day and night.

Day 13: arrival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria after travelling 1,110 NM, thus ending the journey.

NOTE: Lunches and dinners outside the ship are not included, nor are any possible dockings in port, since the entire voyage is planned with overnight stays in anchorages.

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (spanish)

Minimum of 4 people registered to confirm the departure.

Extra costs:
Meals, snacks, drinks and soft drinks, fuel, skipper and final cleaning = €500/pax.
NOTE: All of these fees are mandatory.
The Owner's Cabin carries a supplement of €50/pax.
These extra charges take into account whether the boat's maximum capacity is reached (6 seats).
In case the boat is not full, the extra costs will increase accordingly.
Booking: You must pay Sailwiz the amount shown on the page. The rest is paid to the skipper when you board.

Cancellation:
* Up to 30 days before = 100% refund.
* Between 30 and 15 days before = 50% refund.
* Between 14 and the day of departure = 0% refund.

Boat details

Installations: photovoltaic installation, 230 V - 3 KVA inverter, 1000 Ah lithium batteries, desalination plant, water treatment plant, induction cooker, microwave/convection oven, dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, freezer and heating.

Electronics: GPS-Plotter, AIS, Autopilot and Radar with Doppler system.

The ship has the Office of the Captaincy of Castellón. This means that you have all the documents in order, including, but not limited to: Passenger insurance, civil liability and that all safety devices are checked. We attach the current certificate.

Smoking is prohibited on board.
