The skipper: Manuel

We make the Atlantic crossing back from San Martín to Cádiz in our sailboat BAVARIA 50, which offers all the comforts for a trip of these characteristics

We will leave the Caribbean and sail through the Atlantic towards Madeira, a Portuguese island that is a traditional place of passage for the ships that return from American lands. From there, and with the permission of the wind, we will head to Cádiz to end our adventure.

Join me on this adventure to enjoy an epic journey.

Activity dedicated to
  • Atlantic crossing
We will leave San Martín in the month of April (date to be decided according to the weather) and we estimate that in 18 days we will arrive in Madeira.

Once we reach this Portuguese island, it is possible that we make a stopover for a couple of days, depending on the weather (since it may be more convenient to continue our journey as we arrive).

Seven days after leaving Madeira we will arrive in Cádiz, where our adventure will end.

This route through the south is safer than through Bermuda and Azores, and we will take advantage of the great motor autonomy that the catamaran has to avoid storms to the north.

Important: There is no specific arrival date and we can change the wrinkled port if the weather requires it.

Additional information
The Atlantic crossings are less dangerous than a car trip, but they have their part of adventure. It is necessary to assume that we will be far from external aid and will depend on elements that we cannot control, such as contrary winds, breakdowns and other conditions that may influence our planned calendar and itinerary.

That is, this is not a cruise with departure and arrival dates, you have to be willing to take a little longer, call in Tenerife if the weather requires it or have to wait a week in Madeira ... The wind rules and not It is as reliable as the one way trade winds.
