Crossing the Atlantic Caribbean-Azores-Spain in Catamaran

We cross the Atlantic from the Caribbean to Europe aboard our catamaran.

It is a super trip from the Caribbean islands of St. Marteen or from Martinique, bound for the Azores and final destination in Spain, sailing on a Lagoon 440 catamaran with two professional skippers.

The route we take is proven by all the sailors who return to Europe after their stay in the Caribbean. We will carry satellite communication on board for personal sms and professional weather information as "weather rules".

You will all have the role of navigators, you will make guards, we will analyze the weather and we will discuss the information in a group.

Safety is everything: self-inflating life jackets for everyone, ocean raft for 12 people, radio beacon, radar, Iridium (2), AIS, VHF, etc.

Plan

We will join the ship in Martinique, we will go up the Caribbean winward islands to St. Marteen where we will meet the rest of the travelers and we will stock up.

We will leave towards the Azores making the safest route based on the weather models and experience. We have 2,200 miles to go to the Azores, under sail (or motor if the wind dies down).

In Ponta Delgada or Orta we will stop for 2 days to rest and enjoy. After the stop in the Azores, we head towards the Strait of Gibraltar, which is always a spectacle of maritime traffic and dolphins.

Finally we will head towards Denia or Valencia ending this adventure.

Other information

Minimum of 4 crew members signed up to carry out the crossing.

We are Pedro and Victoria, captains and qualified professional skippers. This is my fifth crossing and the second with this wonder of a boat. Victoria will accompany us on her third crossing as co-captain on the catamaran. From my previous experiences, each one lives this adventure in a different way, but they all agree that the personal bonds that are formed last forever.

Logistically, you can embark in Martinique and go up the islands to St. Marteen the week before. The rest of the travelers will embark in St. Marteen.

The Lagoon 440 is one of the best-selling catamaran models in the transworld user category, maximizing two key aspects for long voyages: comfort and reliability. Our boat has a refit from October 2022 with extensive equipment. We try that nothing is missing for a safe, reliable and comfortable navigation.
