Adventure offered by Stephan

Our adventure begins on Saturday in Poros – our home port, which we know particularly well. After boarding, introductions, and a safety briefing, we'll set sail south. This trip is intentionally flexible: the distances between the islands and the coast are short, the possibilities are numerous – and we, as a crew, will decide together where we sail. Hydra, only about 10 nautical miles away, welcomes us with one of the most beautiful natural harbors in Greece – a car-free island where time seems to have stood still. The uninhabited island of Dokos offers secluded bays for anchoring, swimming, and snorkeling in absolute tranquility. Further south lie Ermioni and Spetses with their sheltered bays and fragrant pine forests stretching right to the water's edge. From Porto Heli, a side trip to Nafplio is possible – the first capital of Greece with its impressive Palamidi Fortress. Depending on the wind and the crew's mood, we'll sail even further south along the Peloponnese coast or enjoy an extra day swimming in one of the countless bays. At the end of the week we return to Poros – a homecoming in the truest sense. Which harbors and bays we visit and how long we stay in each one is decided – just like in real sailing – by the wind, the weather, and the crew together.

Our Galini travels the world – and you can join her! With us, you're not an anonymous guest on a standard route, but part of a real crew, discovering new horizons together. We're not a typical charter company that sails the same tour every week. Instead, we sail together, experience authentic boat life, and embrace the adventure the sea has in store for us.

Climb aboard a superbly equipped, lovingly maintained boat and enjoy something special: With us, nothing is off the rack. Every trip is unique – sometimes spontaneous, sometimes planned, always full of surprises. Unplanned experiences are just as much a part of it as relaxing days on deck.

Want more than just a sailing trip? We'll take care of the onboard technology together, and you can lend a hand if you like. You can turn your holiday cruise into a real experience on a long-distance cruising yacht and become part of life at sea.

Our sailing trips combine vacation, adventure, mindfulness, and authentic boating life. Become part of our crew and experience a special time on Galini – authentic, communal, and full of adventure.

    HIGHLIGHTS
We decide on our stops in harbors and anchorages together. We are a crew that plans the route according to preferences, wind, and weather.
    - Poros: Our home port with its picturesque clock tower, the lively promenade and the sheltered Russian Bay for swimming
    - Hydra: The car-free artists' island with one of the most beautiful harbors in Greece, donkeys instead of cars and timeless elegance
    - Dokos: Uninhabited island with secluded anchorages and crystal-clear water, a real insider tip
    - Ermioni: Sleepy port town at the tip of a peninsula, surrounded by pine forests
    - Spetses: Fragrant pine trees, stately captains' houses and the dreamy Zogeria Bay with its turquoise waters
    - Porto Heli: A sheltered natural harbor on the Peloponnese coast, quiet and idyllic.
    - Nafplio: First capital of modern Greece, Venetian fortress Palamidi and charming old town
    - Epidaurus: The ancient theater with its legendary acoustics, just a short shore excursion away

    THE TRIP
Experience the magic of the Saronic and Argolic Gulfs on our relaxed sailing trip departing from Poros in August. From our home port, we head south to some of Greece's most beautiful islands: Hydra, the car-free artists' island; Spetses with its idyllic anchorages; and the rugged coastline of the eastern Peloponnese. Short daily sailing distances, countless sheltered bays, and picturesque harbor towns with traditional tavernas right on the water – this trip offers relaxed island sailing at its finest.
Jump into the crystal-clear water from the swimming platform in the morning, sail with the thermal winds to the next bay in the afternoon, stroll through the car-free streets of Hydra in the evening, and enjoy fresh fish in a taverna overlooking the sea. We sail together, learn from each other, and enjoy the freedom of the water.

Galini, our Hanse 575, is a true bluewater yacht – built for life and travel on the sea. We sail with warm and welcoming people, discovering the world together and experiencing real boat life: sun, wind, saltwater, little adventures, and the feeling of truly discovering something together as a crew. Galini is at home on the sea and usually far from her home port on Poros. You'll become part of life on board. Things won't always go according to plan – sometimes something breaks down or the weather changes our course – but that's precisely what makes it authentic. We're also happy to show you the onboard technology, and you can participate in all activities – navigating, steering, cooking, and even the technical aspects. Not a cruise, but a true community, genuine experiences, and the magic of the sea.

    THE RULE
The Saronic and Argolic Gulfs are among the most relaxed and diverse sailing areas in the entire Mediterranean. Sheltered by the Peloponnese, the Meltemi wind blows here much more gently than in the open Aegean – typically 3-4 Beaufort, rarely more. The islands and coastal towns are close together, and typical daily legs are only 5 to 20 nautical miles – leaving plenty of time for swimming, anchoring, and simply enjoying the scenery. The area offers a fascinating mix of cosmopolitan ports like Hydra and Spetses, secluded anchorages, ancient sites, and the rugged coastline of the eastern Peloponnese. Since we start and finish from our home port of Poros, we know this area particularly well. From Poros, you can quickly reach Piraeus by ferry and from there Athens International Airport in about an hour – travel is straightforward and easy to plan.

    WIND & CLIMATE
August brings high summer temperatures (air: 30–36°C, water: 26–27°C). The Meltemi wind blows considerably milder in the Saronic Gulf than in the open Aegean – typically 3–4 Beaufort from the north to northeast. Between Hydra, Spetses, and the Argolic Gulf, a pleasant thermal wind from the southeast prevails, picking up around midday and dying down again in the evening – ideal for relaxed sailing. Mornings are often calm, perfect for swimming stops and a leisurely start to the day. Rain is practically nonexistent in August – brilliant sunshine and the special light of the Aegean are guaranteed.

Every day I am thankful for this beautiful life. I would like to share that. Normally, as an organizational developer, I accompany companies in change processes. When it comes to sailing, I want to contribute to making this adventure more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Boat details

Our yacht, a Hanse, stands for a comfortable and outstanding experience. It gives you a feeling of spaciousness, a calm atmosphere and offers the freedom you need for your activities. Nevertheless, it is fast, sporty and has great sailing performance. It was designed by Volvo Ocean Race Designers and is the fastest yacht in its class.

The large cockpit offers enough space for pleasant get-togethers and long conversations with a breathtaking panoramic view. On the sun deck you can be alone, take the time to read a book or enjoy the nature around you. The skipper's cabin has its own entrance. Even if you are supported by a professional crew, you still have your privacy.

The yacht is a modern Hanse 575. It has 4 double cabins and a cabin for the skipper. Each cabin has its own bathroom with electric toilet. Starlink, multi media, air conditioning, generator, 230 V in all cabins and Nespresso coffee machine. Solar panels, radar, AIS, watermaker, washing machine, bathing platform and a dinghy with an electrically powered outboard motor. Comprehensive safety and navigation equipment as well as many other equipment that you need to be self-sufficient.
