We will set sail on our sailboat from Puerto Williams, Chile, located on Navarino Island, Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost town in the world.
Boarding will be at the mythical and picturesque Micalvi Yacht Club. Here the adventure begins. After placing all the luggage, assigning cabins and a short safety briefing, we will set sail heading west along the legendary Beagle Channel.
Navigation is usually calm and pleasant, although we must be attentive to the famous katabatic winds that can surprise us at any time while sailing through the Fuegian channels.
We will spend the days sailing through small ice, and we will sleep at anchor in different coves and bays. We will observe glaciers, such as the impressive Garibaldi, enormous waterfalls, we will discover its magnificent snowdrifts and fjords such as the Pía, and the humid forests of Chilean Patagonia.
We will enjoy its surprising marine fauna, humpback whales, sea lions, penguins, birds and we will surely be accompanied by southern dolphins playing with our bow. We will anchor at strategic points and embark on our zodiak to make routes and approaches. We will travel paths and do small trekkings.
We will sail to Darwin Island, where we will head south, towards Cook Bay. If the weather is with us, we will look out over the Pacific, and we will enjoy the day boarding and sailing in the bay. We will continue sailing through the Fuegian channels until Estéro Coloane, from here we will head to Puerto Williams.
