Experience a true Atlantic crossing from Gran Canaria to Martinique (Le Marin) – the great adventure of bluewater sailing! We'll sail across the Atlantic on our large and fast Hanse 575 GALINI. We'll harness the trade winds, plan our route according to the weather, and first sail south to the Cape Verde Islands, where a stopover is possible. From there, we'll set course for the Caribbean and experience the fascination of the ocean: navigation, night sailing, team spirit, and the intense life of an Atlantic crew.

**We are currently in the planning phase and are assembling a crew that will not only be a good fit for sailing but also for personal reasons. It's important to us that the group on board truly fits together – that's why we conduct personal interviews with all interested parties.**

Our GALINI successfully participated in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) last year and meets all safety requirements of this prestigious rally. This means she is equipped and tested for the Atlantic crossing according to the highest international standards.

Highlights
- Gran Canaria – Start in the marina of Las Palmas, final preparations and crew briefing
- Atlantic crossing – approx. 2,800 nautical miles of true blue water sailing
- Cape Verde – Option for a stopover, shore leave and supplies in Mindelo
- Navigation and on-board routine under trade wind conditions
- Starry nights, sunrises and sunsets in the middle of the ocean
- Dolphins, whales and flying fish often accompany us
- Martinique – Landfall in the port of Le Marin, Caribbean joie de vivre and French flair

territory
The classic Atlantic crossing season begins in December. The route takes us south from Gran Canaria to the Cape Verde Islands – a possible stopover in Mindelo offers an opportunity for rest, supplies, and a technical check. From there, we head west to the Caribbean. The trade wind route is known for stable winds, moderate waves, and the unique feeling of being in the middle of the ocean. Marina Le Marin awaits us in Martinique – one of the largest and most modern marinas in the Caribbean, ideal for arrival, resupply, and onward travel.

  • Plan
Our adventure begins on December 1st in Gran Canaria. After boarding, a safety briefing, and provisioning, we use the time to prepare and get to know the crew. As soon as everything is ready, we set sail and head south for the Cape Verde Islands. Depending on the weather and crew, we may make a stopover in Mindelo on São Vicente—a perfect opportunity for a shore leave, fresh supplies, and a technical check. We then set course for Martinique. We spend the next two to three weeks at sea: keeping watch, trimming sails, navigating, observing the weather, cooking together, and engaging in heart-to-heart conversations in the cockpit. At night, the stars shine like nowhere else; during the day, we are often accompanied by dolphins or flying fish. Life on board is characterized by team spirit, mutual support, and the shared goal of arriving safely and happily in the Caribbean. After approximately 2,800 nautical miles, we arrive in Le Marin—a place full of Caribbean joie de vivre, French culture, and a perfect infrastructure for sailors.

Our Galini is cruising the world – and you can be part of it! With us, you're not an anonymous guest on a standard itinerary, but part of a real crew discovering new horizons together. We're not a classic charter company that runs the same tour every week. Instead, we sail together, experience true boating life, and embrace the adventures the sea has in store for us.
Climb aboard a beautifully equipped, lovingly maintained boat and enjoy something special: Nothing is off-the-shelf with us. Every trip is unique – sometimes spontaneous, sometimes planned, always full of surprises. Unplanned experiences are just as much a part of it as relaxing days on deck.
Want more than just a sail? We'll take care of the technical aspects of the onboard, and you can get involved yourself if you'd like. You can also turn this vacation cruise into a true long-distance yacht experience and become part of life at sea.
Our trips combine vacation, adventure, mindfulness, and authentic boating. Become part of our crew and experience a special time on Galini – authentic, communal, and full of adventure.

    Wind & Climate
In December, conditions on the classic trade wind route are ideal: The trade winds usually blow steadily from the northeast at 4–6 Beaufort (15–25 knots). Temperatures range from 24–30°C during the day and remain pleasantly warm at night. The water, at 25–27°C, is perfect for swimming, and the air is usually dry and clear. The Atlantic presents itself with long, gentle swells (1–3 m). Rain is rare and usually short-lived. The nights are clear and offer ideal conditions for astronavigation and stargazing.

    yacht
Our GALINI is a modern, fast, and comfortable Hanse 575 with four double cabins and a skipper's cabin—each with its own bathroom and electric toilet. Wi-Fi via Starlink, multimedia, air conditioning, a generator (220 V/7 kW), a washing machine, a bread maker, a Nespresso machine, large solar panels, radar, AIS, a watermaker, a hydraulic bathing platform, and a dinghy with an electric motor ensure self-sufficiency and comfort. The yacht is equipped for the highest levels of safety, design, and performance—developed by Volvo Ocean Racers, making it the fastest yacht in its class. Sailing fun guaranteed!
GALINI has already successfully participated in the ARC and meets all safety requirements of this international Atlantic regatta.

Every day I am thankful for this beautiful life. I would like to share that. Normally, as an organizational developer, I accompany companies in change processes. When it comes to sailing, I want to contribute to making this adventure more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Nevertheless, it is fast, sporty and has great sailing performance. It was designed by Volvo Ocean Race Designers and is the fastest yacht in its class.

The large cockpit offers enough space for pleasant get-togethers and long conversations with a breathtaking panoramic view. On the sun deck you can be alone, take the time to read a book or enjoy the nature around you. The skipper's cabin has its own entrance. Even if you are supported by a professional crew, you still have your privacy.

The yacht is a modern Hanse 575. It has 4 double cabins and a cabin for the skipper. Each cabin has its own bathroom with electric toilet. Starlink, multi media, air conditioning, generator, 230 V in all cabins and Nespresso coffee machine.
