Escale à Sète stands as the largest maritime heritage festival in southern France, drawing crowds of over 250,000 visitors each year. The tall ship takes pride of place among an impressive fleet of historic vessels, all set against a backdrop of French folk music, regional cuisine, and lively cultural events.
Following a vibrant week of sea shanties, dockside performances, and traditional ship displays, we set sail for Spain and the Escala a Castelló festival.
As we cruise southwest across the Mediterranean, guests are invited to step into the rhythm of tall ship life. Take the helm, raise the sails, or join our friendly crew in learning seamanship techniques—from ropework and navigation to mast climbing (weather allowing). You’re also welcome to simply unwind on the bowsprit or enjoy a golden-hour drink on deck as the sun dips below the horizon.
Sailing with the wind, we may trace a course south toward the Balearics, with the chance—if conditions permit—to pause for a swim or explore by kayak or paddleboard.
Our journey concludes in Castellón, where the Spanish counterpart to Sète’s festivities has recently drawn more than 270,000 attendees. Before heading home, explore the town’s highlights, including its landmark cathedral, the iconic 60-meter El Fadrí bell tower, and the historic Mercado de Kanamo.
