On our sailing trip we follow in the footsteps of legendary tall ships and let ourselves
of wind and sun on the first leg across the Atlantic. From Tenerife
to Mindelo we cover about 850 nautical miles – a distance that we
favorable winds in 6-7 days.
After provisions and a detailed introduction to our Jenneau,
a proven blue water vessel, we set off. Our route takes us
further south – until the butter melts. Instead of sailing directly to the Caribbean,
we plan, depending on the weather, to visit Mindelo and other islands of the archipelago
before our trip ends in Mindelo.
Sailing on the open ocean is a mind-expanding experience.
Sailing nonstop and living on board – day and night – reduces
Focus on the essentials: eating, sleeping, keeping the ship running.
At the same time, it opens up new perspectives through the time and peace we have,
to admire the stars, sunrises and sunsets.
With the well-equipped Rocinante and our experienced skipper Jan, the
has already completed four successful Atlantic crossings – two of them
together with the Rocinante – we are well prepared for this
unforgettable adventures.
