The adventure will begin in Punta Arenas where you will take the flight that will leave you on King George Island, South Shetland, where you will board the sailboat with us.
This expedition is very special, because if the weather allows it we will sail for the first time through the northeast of the Antarctic peninsula, we will go tackling between the peninsula and the South Shetlands. We will try to visit the Gabriel de Castilla base and we will be able to listen and learn from its history.
We will visit Deception Island and its old whaling factory. If the weather allows it, we can bathe in its thermal waters and walk along its beaches. Bring your swimsuit!
We will continue sailing south west among whales, birds, glaciers, icebergs. The days will continue to be very long, with almost no darkness. We will listen to the creaking of the ice, we will visit penguin colonies and we will try to visit the southernmost bar in the world, always accompanied by our expedition leader who will have a thousand anecdotes to tell us.
We will sail as far south west as we can and set sail for the mainland, we will have about 550 miles to go. If the weather allows it, we will try to round Cape Horn and perhaps even visit it.
We will sail north until we enter the Beagle where we will disembark in Puerto Williams or Ushuaia.
*The above is the planned plan, the itinerary that we finally follow will depend to a large extent on the weather conditions
