First day:
Boarding at the port of Alguhero at 12 noon. Once settled on board and the necessary explanations have been given, we can take a stroll around the beautiful walled historic centre, where Catalan is still spoken. In the afternoon, we will set sail towards the large bay of Port del Compte, where we can take our first dips.
Second day:
After breakfast and a swim, we can visit the Nuraghe of Palmavera, one of the impressive Neolithic fortresses in Sardinia. In the afternoon, we will cross the bay to the nearby cove of Bol, where the more energetic can take an excursion to the Grotta di Nettuno and watch the sunset over the sea.
Third day:
This day we will weigh anchor early and round the impressive cliffs of Cabo de la Caça, sailing north until we reach Passaggio dei Fornelli, about 25 miles away. We should arrive with the sun high in order to clearly see the bottom of this narrow and complicated passage. On the other side we will find the magnificent beach of La Pelosa with impressive turquoise waters on a white sand bottom.
Fourth day:
We will spend the day sailing quietly, dropping anchor and exploring the nearby coves. In the afternoon, we will enter the charming natural harbour of Stintino, a small village founded by Sardinian and Genoese families displaced from the Asinara, which is worth visiting and enjoying its pleasant atmosphere.
Fifth day:
We will sail north to the maritime-terrestrial national park of the island of Asinara, which was a penal colony from the end of the 19th century and a maximum security prison for mobsters until the end of the 1990s. The coves, seabed and marine life are fantastic. In the afternoon we can take an excursion to Punta Maestre with magnificent views, and find the white donkeys of Asinara roaming freely on the mountain.
Sixth day:
We will spend the morning snorkelling near the cove of Oliva and make an interesting visit to the old prisons. After lunch we will set sail for Castelsardo, about 3 hours away by open sea where it is likely to spot dolphins. Once moored and showered, we can go up to the medieval walled town of Catalan origin.
Seventh day:
Disembarkation until 12 noon at the port of Castelsardo.
The skipper may substantially vary the itinerary depending on weather conditions and group preferences.
