Day 1 (Friday): Athens/Volos.
Meeting in Athens or Volos, depending on your preference. presentation and welcome dinner in the city center. Overnight at a hotel in Athens or in Volos.
Upon our arrival at the port of Volos, a city about 3 and a half hours away by road from Athens, we can meet the rest of the group, either by private transfer or by public transport such as bus or train.
Day 2 (Saturday): Volos — Trikeri Island (18 nautical miles).
In
the morning we will meet to make the joint purchase and load supplies aboard the sailboat. Then we'll get together to review the itinerary, review the safety regulations, and we'll board around 5:00 p.m., at which time the sailboat will be ready to sail.
Our first destination will be the tranquil island of Trikeri, on the other side of the Pagasetic Gulf. We will cruise for about three hours until we reach this charming coastal town, where we will spend our first night moored.
Day 3 (Sunday): Trikeri Island — Skiathos Island (29 miles).
After breakfast, we will leave the gulf behind and enter the channel that will take us to Skiathos, a vibrant island, famous for its golden sandy beaches and surrounded by a wooded landscape. One of the best known is Koukounaries, considered to be among the best in the world.
We will stop at a secluded cove to enjoy a swim and lunch in a natural environment.
In the afternoon, we will continue along the coast until we reach the town of Skiathos, a bay full of vegetation with a very welcoming atmosphere. Its narrow streets are full of taverns, charming shops, jewelry stores and trendy bars. Here you can breathe a lively nightlife, earning it the nickname “Capri of the Aegean”. Many luxury yachts anchor in its port and its promenade is a meeting point for the international elite.
When night falls, the city comes to life even more with its clubs and outdoor terraces.
Day 4 (Monday): Skiathos — Patitiri Port (Alonnisos Island) (22 miles).
Although we won't cover a long distance today, it will be a very full day. In the morning we will sail to the island of Skopelos, where we will anchor in a cove in the south to spend the day relaxing.
After lunch, we will cross a short stretch of sea to Alonnisos, separated by only a few miles.
This island is characterized by its serene environment and its commitment to the environment. It is part of the North Aegean Marine Park and is home to the Monk Seal Museum. In addition, it is surrounded by islets and unspoiled nature.
We will sleep in Patitiri, its main port, a picturesque place full of white houses. At dusk, we can visit Chora, the old town, rebuilt after an earthquake, which extends over a hill in the form of an amphitheater and maintains a bohemian and relaxed atmosphere.
Day 5 (Tuesday): Alonnisos — Kyra Panagia Island (15 miles).
Today we will head to the nearby and little frequented island of Kyra Panagia (also called Pelagonisi), with just a couple of registered residents.
In the morning we will visit a hidden cove with crystal clear waters and in the afternoon we will enter Planitis Bay, a closed cove that in the Middle Ages served as a refuge for pirates.
Archaeological remains indicate that ancient Alonnisos, mentioned by Demosthenes and Strabo, was located here. Neolithic remains have also been found in Agios Petros that date back to about 6,000 years BC.
We will spend the night anchored in this remote place, under a starry sky and in complete silence.
Day 6 (Wednesday): Kyra Panagia — Skopelos Island (24 miles).
We will set sail leaving Kyra Panagia in the west and cross back to Alonnisos, this time sailing along its wilder north coast, open to the wind. We will look for a sheltered cove where we can hang out before continuing to Skopelos.
Today we will explore the opposite side of the island, famous for being one of the sets of the movie Mamma Mia!.
We will spend the night in Skopelos Chora, a traditional town built on terraces on the hillside, with cobblestone alleys that cross white houses adorned with colorful bougainvilleas. An idyllic setting for an overnight stay.
Day 7 (Thursday): Skopelos — Tsougkrias Island (17 miles).
We will sail around the north of Skopelos and then head back to the neighboring island of Skiathos.
Today we will focus on exploring the small, unspoiled islands of Arkos and Tsougkrias. Both offer quiet and paradisiacal coves, perfect for spending the night at anchor.
Since the distance is short, there is also the option of changing the course and anchoring at another interesting point on the peninsula. As we always say: plans are there to be adapted!
Day 8 (Friday): Tsougkrias — Volos (39 miles).
Last full day of sailing, ideal for enjoying the sea and, if the wind is good, making a good sailing trip. We will cross the Pagasetic Gulf again towards the port of Volos, with the intention of arriving around 17:00 h.
That afternoon-night we reserved it for a special farewell dinner in a typical restaurant facing the sea, celebrating the lived experience.
Day 9 (Saturday): End of trip and disembarkation.
After the last night on board, we will disembark early, before 9:00 a.m.
It's time to say goodbye to this incredible journey through a unique corner of the Mediterranean Sea.
As upon arrival, we will have pre-coordinated transportation for those who need to return to Athens that same day.
