Santander - Solent - Cowes crossing

Embark on an exciting sailing trip from Santander to the legendary Solent, one of the most iconic destinations for lovers of the sea and nautical life. Located between the south coast of England and the Isle of Wight, this strait is renowned for its rich maritime history, strategic importance and vibrant maritime culture.

Sailing its waters means immersing yourself in centuries of tradition and challenging yourself in one of the most fascinating environments in the world for sailors. Live the unique experience of crossing the English Channel, docking in historic ports and feeling the thrill of sailing the same waters that have marked milestones in international navigation. Join this adventure and write your own chapter in the heart of world sailing!

Plan

We will set sail on September 7th from Santander, having embarked the day before. We will wait 2 days of sailing until the Breton port of L'Aber Wrach, where we will rest after 325 nautical miles to jump to the British coasts. We will arrive 1 day later at the island of Portland, in Weymouth. We will be greeted by the coast of Dorset in the United Kingdom as a prelude to the cherry on the cake of the trip: The Solent.

Between the 10th and 11th of September we will enter the Solent through The Needles with the intention of arriving at the emblematic port of Cowes, on the Isle of Wight. From this place we will plan 2 days of sailing and technical training in the area, being able to enjoy its waters and unique conditions for sailing. We will have the opportunity to visit the entire area with ports such as Portsmouth or Gosport, consider a trip to Southampton or go around the Isle of Wight in its entirety. The opportunities are countless. All this is seasoned with a visit to the ports and places to soak up the incredible maritime history and culture of the place.

The trip is eligible as mile building for RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore, RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Ocean qualifications or for certifications such as the PPER (Spain). In short, it is an opportunity for any private or professional sailor who wishes to continue developing as a sailor.

On September 14th we will be looking forward to welcoming new crew members to sail the Solent for another 2 days. Should there be crew members who are making the round trip, we offer the opportunity for them to complete their experience in the region with any plans that could not be completed.

After these first days we will embark on the return trip, retracing the steps of the outward journey to plan the return to our base port of Santander on September 20/21.
If the group is closed around the outbound/return trip, we can propose alternative stopovers to optimise the expedition experience, as long as they fit into the planned schedule.

This route is, of course, suitable as mile building for RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal-Offshore qualifications or for certifications such as the PPER (Spain). The experience for sailors looking to continue growing at sea: absolutely enriching.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (spanish)

The trip can be booked by seat, full cabin or entire boat. Likewise, it is possible to book the OUTWARD, RETURN or both. Prices include taxes, insurance, skipper, fuel, food on board and port fees.
Round trip: 1800 euros.
ROUND TRIP: 3200 euros.
Full cabin: A 50% surcharge will be applied to the base price (one way, return or return). Full boat: If you are interested in the expedition for a closed group, please consult us for conditions and availability of dates to organize your group and your expedition. From 10,000 euros.
A 50% deposit will be required to reserve a place/boat, which is refundable only in the event of a justified cancellation by the client or by the company. Details can be found in the cruise contract.

The planned dates may be subject to change for justified reasons (weather, technical capabilities, etc.). These changes will be duly announced so that the necessary changes and adjustments can be made.
The cabins can accommodate up to two people per bunk, and can be shared by up to two people. You can always book the entire cabin or, in the case of married couples, couples, acquaintances and the like, let the team know so that we can conveniently organise the space on board.

The organization team reserves the right to make operational decisions regarding navigation, taking into account aspects such as (among others): motor navigation due to lack of wind or various conditions, modification of the navigation plan, visit or stop at secondary ports along the route, cancellation of the expedition due to adverse conditions, on-board guidelines for passengers for reasons of safety and/or coexistence, etc.
