Leaving Kalamata, we'll begin our sailing holiday in Greece towards Koroni and Methoni, two picturesque towns dominated by historic fortresses and located on two different promontories of the Peloponnese, where we'll stop during our boat cruise. These villages were already important in ancient Greece.
According to legend, Methoni was offered by Agamemnon to Achilles, and Homer described it as "rich in virgins." Later, both villages became the "eyes of Venice": the first outposts of the Maritime Republic that dominated the Mediterranean. Today, these towns are quiet spots ideal for boat stops, with clear waters perfect for a refreshing swim, but also interesting for those who love visiting Greece's historic fortresses. Continuing north, we'll reach the secluded Strofades Islands and splendid Zabte, one of the most beautiful Greek islands, famous for Shipwreck Bay. A lovely sail and we'll arrive in Kefalonia in the magnificent Gulf of Argostoli.
