Location:
North Atlantic, Madeira, La Palma

Category:
coastal sailing / offshore voyage approx. 300 nm

The island of Madeira is a jewel in the North Atlantic, captivating visitors not only with its mild and pleasant temperatures. Impressive and fascinating natural scenery makes the sailing trip along Madeira's coastline entertaining and exciting before we set course for the Canary Islands.

Daily sailing distances are usually between 40 and 60 miles. Depending on wind and weather, we will sail for approximately 5 to 12 hours each day. At the end of a sailing day, we will anchor in bays or harbors, and sometimes sail further to experience the sea under the influence of the night with attentive seamanship. There will also be plenty of time to relax, explore, and enjoy the surroundings.

Participants with and without sailing experience are very welcome on board.

The prerequisite is the willingness to engage with nature, the sea and the peculiarities of sailing with respect and joy, team spirit and tolerance.

Smoking below deck and the consumption of alcoholic beverages while sailing are not permitted.

Funchal - La Palma / Madeira - Canary Islands
    October 18, 2026, 5:00 PM - October 24, 2026, 10:00 AM

The Canary Islands are often called "tropical Spain." In the cold and rainy November weather of Germany, they offer a vision of eternal spring, blue skies, hot yellow sun, endless sandy beaches, palm trees, and pleasant temperatures.
Each of the seven Canary Islands has its own unique charm; on our trip, we'll focus on La Palma. On a clear day, we can see the summit of Mount Teide on Tenerife in the distance; at 3,717 meters, it's the highest mountain in Spain. The peak is often snow-covered, even though it's only 300 nautical miles outside the tropics.

We're sailing a 2017 Bavaria C51. It's a special boat, designed and certified for offshore sailing. It handles even high waves with ease and boasts excellent seakeeping. Comfort and performance have been seamlessly combined, promising a pleasant time together on board and an exhilarating sailing experience.

Other information
The skipper for this activity speaks german. To participate you must speak one of the languages spoken on board.

Final cleaning:
The final cleaning of the yacht is usually carried out by the crew at the end of the trip. To allow you to pack in peace and leave the boat without the hassle of cleaning, I will take care of the final cleaning for you (not valid for trips in the Azores).
This means a relaxed arrival and a pleasant departure for you.

One yacht, one skipper:
I'm your skipper! You can contact me and get to know me during your trip preparations. If you're unsure about anything or have any questions, please give me a call. I'm happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have. I know the yacht inside and out and offer professional, safe, and personalized skippering tailored to your specific needs.

Shopping lists/recipes:
Upon request, I will compile recipes and a corresponding shopping list tailored to the number of participants and your culinary preferences. A holiday feeling from the very first minute.

Background/Additional Information:
You'd like to take a shore excursion, or perhaps you haven't yet had time to find out what awaits you at our destination port. You'll receive this information on board, and if any questions remain unanswered, I'm happy to assist with your research.

Onboard cash:
At the start of the trip, each participant contributes approximately €100 to the ship's kitty. This covers provisions including drinks, fuel, harbor fees, gas, and diesel fuel consumed. (The skipper is exempt.)

When the initial funds run low, the crew each contribute an equal amount. At the end of the trip, any remaining funds in the ship's kitty are divided among the participants.

The required amount varies depending on the cost of food in the region visited and the desired level of meals. Typically, the cost of the onboard kitty ranges from €80 to €150 per person per week.
