Wind, Sun, and Nature: Family Sailing in Greece

An experience designed to offer families the opportunity to experience nature, caressed by the wind, and relax without worrying about cooking or maintaining the boat.

We want to give those who come aboard the opportunity to fully enjoy the beauty of these less-visited places by sailing through the most secluded bays and in harmony with nature, enjoying the stars, sunrises, and sunsets, all in the carefree knowledge that Estel will be managing the kitchen, carefully and lovingly offering simple, yet flavorful menus.
For the little ones, there is plenty of fun and playtime with two active, lively 7-year-old travel companions, with fishing, diving, and the opportunity to learn how to navigate safely, as well as citizen-science activities to monitor microplastics.

To make all this possible, a boat equipped for the needs of an exploration trip will be available. Great autonomy and space for various activities, 500L of water, solar photovoltaic system, 2 toilets.

Navigation area:
Kos North route, the itinerary will be chosen according to the wind, sailing north when comfortable and sailing downwind in a southerly direction.

The islands we propose to discover are the following: Kos, Kalimnos, Leros, Fourni, Arki, Agatonisi Lipsi, Levitha, Ikaria, Agatonisi, Levitha

The itinerary may vary depending on sea conditions.

NATURE OBSERVATION: observe every aspect of nature, from the effect of how the sea has shaped the coast, to the way plants organize themselves to make life possible, what activities they perform and how wild animals (goats, fish, insects, etc.) move, to understand their principles.

- EXPLORATION ON LAND: explore on foot the mountainous areas along the coast and inland of the islands or reach beaches where anchoring is not possible and admire their beauty.

- FISHING: passive with trap systems, static from the boat, dynamic by trolling or swimming

- STARS: observation of the celestial vault to know and recognize the measures to which we belong

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english, italian and spanish)

The following are required for the type of experience and navigation area:
Evaluation survey to participate in the experience

- familiarity with life on a boat (management of shared space, previous navigation in rough seas, flexibility in living in a group)
- good physical mobility and habit of prolonged movement, adaptation to heat
- food tolerance
- good manual skills
- ability to assess risk, one's own physical capabilities and manage tension in emergency situations

Activities, including ordinary ones (cooking, cleaning) are organised in groups with the participation of everyone.

Expenses to be paid on site: Fuel, food, ports: €250/person/week
