La revalidación de la formación básica en seguridad marítima, de acuerdo con las normas establecidas por la Organización Marítima Internacional (OMI) y reguladas en muchos países, generalmente incluye varios módulos esenciales para garantizar que los marineros mantengan su competencia y habilidades.
Supervivencia en el mar en caso de abandono del buque:
- Uso de chalecos salvavidas y trajes de inmersión.
- Empleo de dispositivos de salvamento, como balsas y embarcaciones de rescate.
- Técnicas de supervivencia personal en el agua.
- Señales de socorro y métodos de comunicación en emergencias.
- Prevención y lucha contra incendios:
Tipos de incendios y clasificación de los mismos.
- Uso de extintores y otros equipos de lucha contra incendios.
- Procedimientos de evacuación y seguridad en caso de incendio.
- Prácticas de manejo de mangueras y sistemas de extinción fijos.
