If you already have the Basic Security Training certificate and it has expired/expired or is about to expire, you must take a refresher course that corresponds to 20% of the original course workload. This course is face-to-face and takes place in Can Pastilla (Mallorca).
The cases in which your certificate will not expire and you will be able to renew it at the Maritime Captaincy just by carrying out the procedure will be:
- Have held the position of sailor for at least 1 year of the last 5 years.
- Have held the position of sailor for at least 3 months during the last year.
The schedule of the refresher course is only 16 hours of practice (it does not contain theory according to the Resolution of September 21, 2016 of the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine).
When you have passed the refresher course, our center approved by the DGMM will give you a diploma and will explain the guidelines for you to appear at the Maritime Captaincy to process your renewal of the certificate.
