In summer, Lagoon 42 is in Sardinia.
Departure port: Cagliari – Marina di Capitana
During the catamaran training in Tenerife, Canary Islands + Cagliari, Sardinia, you will learn the practical aspects of catamaran sailing, as well as maneuvering with both engines without using the rudder. Harbor maneuvers such as docking and undocking, and various other situations, will be practiced repeatedly. Anchoring with a bridle for stabilizing the catamaran will also be covered.
Code Zero roller furling genoa and wingaker/spinnaker headsail are also used.
Furthermore, you will receive practical tips on handling catamarans. We will prepare you to charter our Lagoon 42 - Janny, Lagoon 40 - Jessica, or other catamarans in the future.
The skipper accompanies all harbor maneuvers to give corrective instructions. The final responsibility lies with the skipper.
Schedule for the week:
The new guests will arrive on board on Saturday.
The cabins and catamaran will be cleaned by 12:30. In the afternoon, we will go grocery shopping with the guests. On Saturday evening, there will be introductions and a barbecue on board.
Depending on the weather, we will leave the marina on Saturday or Sunday. We will take a short trip to the beaches. On Sunday morning, we will begin with a detailed theoretical explanation of all catamaran characteristics and docking maneuvers.
All of the week's exercises will be discussed with the customers, so that they can prepare for the upcoming catamaran maneuvers.
We will sail, reef the sails, and anchor several times. On the open sea, you will learn to steer the catamaran.
You can process the information gathered and repeat certain exercises later – the next day. In the mornings, the focus is on maneuver training. New exercises are added each day, which will help you improve your catamaran handling skills.
The level of difficulty is increased daily until you have mastered a docking and undocking maneuver in a marina.
We'll get you ready for your future catamaran charter holiday.
During the week there is plenty of time for relaxation - a mini-vacation, so to speak.
We'll be back at the marina from Tuesday midday or Wednesday morning. There, we'll practice docking and undocking extensively.
On Friday evening, the skipper invites you to the captain's dinner. On Saturday morning, you can have breakfast on board before heading to the airport.
