The Adriatic is a truly adaptable master: at times gentle and welcoming, at other times harsh and severe, always capable of testing all sailors who sail it. Precisely its unpredictability and the rapidity with which its conditions can change make it a sea not to be underestimated. We will heed its every lesson and take home a new treasure of experience.
This year too, we've decided to join the Rimini-Poreč Sailing Race "An Adriatic for All," an event organized by our friends at Esplora Rimini, which promotes projects that support young people with disabilities at sea for sustainable and supportive sailing. Over 20 boats in the middle of the Adriatic will be trying to find the right strategy to reach Porec under full sail. The sailing race will depart on the afternoon of Friday, April 24th. On the evening of April 25th, the table in Porec is set for everyone to toast this wonderful initiative.
We'll plan the route using charts and electronic instruments; we'll consult various meteorological sources and gather valuable information from pilot books to plan a quick and safe return journey.
Focus on optimal sail trimming, working on the mainsail traveler and outhaul, genoa cars, vang, and backstay. The charm and challenges of night sailing, maneuvering safely, anticipating dangers, and avoiding dangerous crossings.
WHO IS IT RECOMMENDED FOR?
new captains who already have a basic theoretical and practical knowledge of sailing techniques, have already carried out their first commands on daily outings and/or have already attended the coastal navigation course and want to have a complete offshore experience, determined to make that leap in quality to take on a safe and independent command even during weekly cruises
Sailing enthusiasts who have previously cruised or raced as passive crew members and want to complete their training to feel more comfortable moving around and making themselves useful on board.
