At the beginning, we experience London once again from the water: With Tower Bridge at our backs, we travel down the Thames until the river opens up to the North Sea.
Depending on wind and weather, we also sail at night using a watch system. Everyone on board is involved in navigation, weather observation, sailing maneuvers, and ship handling. Tidal planning, the Thames estuary, and the busy shipping lanes of the North Sea offer many opportunities to gain practical experience.
Prior yacht sailing experience is advantageous, but not required. Team spirit, reliability, and a willingness to actively participate in onboard life are essential. At the end of April, the weather on the North Sea can be changeable – the route and stopovers will depend on the current conditions.
Sailing will take place on a Beneteau Oceanis 43 with three double cabins and one cabin with bunk beds.
