World Sailing Safety Training (ISAF Training)

As an officially recognized “World Sailing Approved Offshore Personal Survival Training Course”, the course is aimed at sailors who wish to deepen their knowledge of handling life rafts and acquire comprehensive practical and theoretical skills in the field of onboard safety.

The training is officially recognized by World Sailing (formerly ISAF) and certified with the quality seal “World Sailing Approved”.

Upon successful participation, an official certificate from World Sailing and the Austrian Sailing Federation (ÖSV) can be issued on site for a fee of €10.

Course participants have the option of staying overnight directly on the sailing yachts.

Safety training – Practical part
• Handling fire extinguishers and fire blankets in emergency situations
• Use and handling of pyrotechnic signaling devices
• Use of life rafts and life jackets
• Practical person-overboard (POB) rescue on monohulls and catamarans

Safety training – Theoretical part
• Fire prevention and firefighting measures on board
• Distress signals and the use of EPIRBs (distress beacons)
• Maintenance, care and inspection of safety equipment
• Onboard communication with VHF radio and GMDSS systems
• Measures for leak prevention and water ingress control
• Damage management and emergency repairs at sea
• Sailing in strong winds and efficient crew procedures
• Use and function of storm sails
• Safe maneuvering and steering of the ship
• Use of sea anchors in difficult weather conditions
• Person overboard: Prevention, alerting and rescue procedures
• Support and assistance in maritime emergencies
• Risks of hypothermia and appropriate countermeasures
• Fundamentals of search and rescue (SAR) operations and their organization

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and german)

5-cabin catamaran Lagoon 46 - Little Havana was built in 2022 and is located in ACI Marina Pomer, Croatia.

Little Havana can accommodate up to 11 people in 1 single cabin, 4 double cabins and a saloon with 2 extra beds. Pillows and blankets are provided during the yacht rental.

The catamaran Little Havana has 4 toilets with shower cabins.

Lagoon is equipped with a fully battened mainsail, electric winches, solar panels, radar, bimini, outdoor GPS plotter, heating, sound system, outdoor speakers, indoor speakers and a fully equipped kitchen including coffee machine, oven, stove, sink and kitchen utensils.
