Sailing on our over 100-year-old windjammer is like a cozy journey into the past – combined with the comfort and safety standards of the present.

From the very first minute, our friendly crew, consisting of permanent sailors and trainees, will take care of your well-being on board, provide for your meals and offer advice for an exciting shore excursion.

Sailing operations are carried out in the traditional, manual way; nothing happens "at the push of a button" here on deck. You are welcome to participate in sailing activities at any time and on a voluntary basis, and of course you can also take the helm and keep the course, tie nautical knots, climb the mast and enjoy a unique view from the bowsprit.

Our competent, permanent crew will provide expert and safe support in all weather conditions. Of course, you are also welcome to simply relax, enjoy the thrill of sailing with the power of the wind, observe nature, count nautical miles, and forget about everyday life. For longer trips, stopovers are usually planned at short notice and – whenever possible – with your preferences in mind. This way, you'll experience a sailing trip with the Eye of the Wind as a pleasant maritime blend of adventure and comfort, participation and relaxation. You'll always be well catered for, as all our trips include full board (excluding soft drinks and alcoholic beverages).

Trade your everyday life for eight days aboard a traditional tall ship! This Baltic Sea voyage begins on the western shore of the Kiel Fjord. We'll sail to the Danish islands of Ærø, Langeland, Lolland, Falster, and Møn. The journey concludes in the waters around Rügen, with our final port of call being the beautiful Hanseatic city of Stralsund. Sailing adventures, relaxation, and breathtaking natural scenery await you off the coasts of the Danish and German Baltic Sea region: the vastness of the sea and the gentle sound of the Baltic waves are the perfect ingredients for a relaxing, early summer holiday!

In Holtenau, on the western shore of the Kiel Fjord, the Tiessenkai area is a maritime hub and focal point. Here, you have the opportunity to observe the diverse comings and goings of vessels at the locks of the Kiel Canal. From small sports yachts to ocean liners, watercraft of every type and size pass by during the day on the world's busiest artificial waterway. A stroll to the small Holtenau lighthouse offers a glimpse into the nostalgic harbor atmosphere – old cargo sailing ships and schooners are frequently moored at the quay. Use your time to explore the Kiel Fjord, spend a day at Falckenstein beach, or take a trip into the world of sailing at the Schilksee Olympic harbor or the Strande marina.

The picturesque city center, with its brick Gothic buildings, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ozeaneum at the harbor sees itself as a love letter to the seas, featuring 45 aquariums, some of them enormous, an underwater journey through the northern seas, life-size replicas of whales, and a penguin enclosure on the rooftop terrace. The modern architecture is reminiscent of sails billowing in the wind. Within sight of the Ozeaneum lies a special maritime monument: the barque Gorch Fock (I), a sister ship of the German Navy's training vessel.

The time-honored tradition of brewing beer is kept alive at the Störtebeker Brewery. Our tip: Round off your shore excursion with a tour of the brewery.
