Advanced Sailing Course in Benalmádena

Two-day advanced sailing course in Benalmádena.

GOALS
The main objective is to acquire the skills as a skipper to govern a sailboat with speed and safety. For which we are going to improve rudder management, sail trim and the ability to adapt to different wind and sea conditions.

METHODOLOGY
Brief expositions, practice in navigation with data collection, evaluation of the same and implementation of improvement actions.

Plan

Two days, from 09:30 to 20:30 each day, with a one-hour break for lunch

CONTENTS
- Trimming the mast and standing rigging
We will learn the adjustments of the standing rigging, both when mooring and when sailing, adapting the boat to the weather conditions and navigation objectives.
- Trimming the genoa.
We will learn the main concepts of genoa trimming. Its parts and shape. Also the adjustment or trimming actions. Action of the sheets, sheet cars, halyards, etc.
- Trimming the mainsail.
We will learn and practice the main trim points of the mainsail such as the sheet, sheet car, halyard, vang, foot and backstay.
- Techniques to adapt to different wind and sea conditions
We will also practice techniques and maneuvers to coordinate the action of the sails, the rudder and the boat as a whole. Depending on the weather conditions we encounter during the course, we will practice: Sailing with light wind, gusty wind, strong wind, sailing with waves, etc.
Always taking into account aspects such as: the interaction between the sails, the management of the weights on board, the passage of waves, and taking advantage of the gusts.

Other information

This course is taught in spanish. You must have a sufficient level of this language to be able to follow the course.

A minimum of 4 registrants is required to take the course.
Registration is made for a practice with a specific date.
If the student does not attend the course, they will not be entitled to a refund of the price paid.
The school may postpone the practice for meteorological reasons, in this case it will agree with the students
a new date.
