Intensive course for sailing crew from Baiona

Gain confidence in sailing with this two-day intensive course that we will take on a sailing boat from Baiona.

This course is especially aimed at you if you are a sailor with no previous practical experience or if you have gaps in training in this regard due to predominantly theoretical training (PNB, PER, PY...).

We will carry out the course on one of the boats in our fleet: Grand Soleil 43 / Hanse 315 / Hanse 415 / Bavaria 34 Cruiser / Lagoon 42.

Maximum 5 crew members per course. It can be combined with the advanced course for skippers that we run in parallel, since every skipper needs a crew and vice versa. In this way, in the course we will not only practice navigation techniques but also crew management and internal communication.

Plan

Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Duration: 2 days.

SYLLABUS:
- Nautical terms: To understand each other on board it is very convenient to know how to speak the same language.
- Personal comfort: Personal equipment, dizziness prevention, how to maintain temperature, etc.
- Personal safety: Dangerous items on board. How to move on board, etc.
- Coexistence on board: Roles on board, cohabitation in confined spaces with close people, etc.
- Knots, ropes and uses.
- Motor maneuvers: berthing, unberthing, anchoring, MOB, etc. how to help on board.
- Sailing maneuvers: hoisting, lowering, tacking, gybing, etc. how to help on board.
- Basic control of the boat. Both sail and motor.
- Landing pneumatics: Use and precautions with and without motor
- Navigation guards: Crossing navigation as a crew member.
- Safety on board: Problem prevention, fire extinguishing, ship abandonment, Mayday, etc.

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and spanish)

Periodicity: All year.
Necessary equipment: Water suit and nautical footwear.
