One-way mileage cruise from the heart of London to Brest

On the well-equipped sailing yacht, we have a few beautiful days ahead of us with many hours under sail, making for a great start to autumn on the water. We'll cover a total of approximately 370 nautical miles.

Our skippers are familiar with the sailing areas, can confidently impart sailing know-how in any situation, and are also available to help you explore the harbors.

Embark on a fascinating mile-long cruise that takes you from the vibrant metropolis of London to Brittany. Our berth is in the heart of London, right next to the famous Tower Bridge. The route combines challenging sailing in the North Sea and the English Channel with tide calculations and exciting stopovers. Experience the Isle of Wight, a mecca of sailing, and enjoy the special atmosphere of Guernsey before arriving in Brest, the gateway to the Atlantic.

Boat details

The Sun Odyssey 389 is a modern sailing yacht from Jeanneau with a length of 11.75 m and a beam of 3.76 m. It combines good sailing characteristics with sophisticated comfort below deck and is suitable for both sporty cruising and holiday trips.

The layout includes three double cabins and a bathroom with shower and toilet. The saloon is bright and open, with a U-shaped seating area, navigation table, and a functional galley with a cooler, gas stove, and sink.

The cockpit is spacious and, with two steering wheels, offers unobstructed access to the folding bathing platform at the stern. The rig is easy to operate—with a fully battened mainsail and furling genoa—and is easy to handle for small crews.

A great sailing and water sports school. I obtained my SBF-See, SBF-Binnen/Segel and UBI/SRC here. Friendly, patient trainers who use their experience and skills to get you to the required exam level. Despite the training, there is still plenty of fun and they take the time to respond to special requests/concerns. I would love to come back here to broaden my maritime horizons.

The theory compact course (in my case SBF Inland) is really very good and prepares you ideally for the exam and beyond.
I also really liked the friendly trainers during the practical training sessions. This meant I was able to pass both exams straight away.

Very good preparation for the exam and future sailing experiences. You can see that all the trainers are very passionate about what they do.
There are always reports of experiences and additional theoretical background on all exam-relevant topics, so that you feel very well prepared the first time you are alone on the boat.

I just did my SBF inland sailing/motor here.
Great people, pleasant atmosphere. The teachers are easy-going, but still competent and can show you what is important when sailing.
If you don't feel completely confident with certain maneuvers, just ask. There is no rigid curriculum that has to be followed. You can decide for yourself where you need more practice.
As you gain experience, you will spend some time on board with just other students. This helps you to feel responsible for the boat and the maneuvers and to coordinate with the other students. But don't worry, a boat with a teacher is always nearby if something goes wrong or you have any questions.
