Sailing course with sextant on a sailboat from Moraira

Participate in this sextant course for a weekend from Moraira. It is a course adapted to all nautical qualifications: PER, PY, CY, PPER and Professional Deep Sea Fishing Skipper.

During navigation we will only use three tools to guide us: sextant, Spanish Nautical Almanac and wristwatch with a second hand (not digital). Therefore, any electronic element will be prohibited: calculators, tablets, mobiles, computers ...

We will sail aboard a Ketch Trade Wind 54 sailboat.

Plan

We will set sail from Moraira on Friday at 09:00.
We will carry out a nonstop defeat. Depending on the weather, we will have several possible destinations: Ibiza, Tabarca or Columbretes.
We will return to Moraira on Sunday at 5:00 p.m., at which time the diplomas will be awarded.

- Use of the calendar
- Solar Analemma
- Equation of Time
- Establishment of the vessel's HRB
- Use of the Spanish Nautical Almanac
- Adjustment of the sextant by the Sun
- Night navigation tricks
- Time, Horizontal and Uranographic Coordinates
- Finding the "naked eye" the Winter and Summer Constellations
- Latitude by the Polar and Meridian of the Sun
- Longitude by Meridian of the Sun.
